Product Description Pimsleur has been a recognized name in language training for decades, and updated Audiofy audiobook chip editions of the flagship Pimsleur Comprehensive series have shrunk the traditional binder of a dozen cassettes or CDs into a tiny memory card - yielding an affordable, durable, more portable product. Each Audiofy audiobook chip, hardly larger than a stamp, holds an unabridged course with 15 hours or more of digital audio, and saves the last listening position automatically (unlike CDs).The Comprehensive Spanish Level III program offers 30 more half-hour lessons building on Comprehensive Spanish I and II, designed to help the listener reach a "high intermediate" level of spoken proficiency. The goal is to enable listeners to participate in formal and informal discussions of practical, social and professional topics, discussing familiar subjects in detail, and even unfamiliar subjects with some effort. This Audiofy audiobook chip edition can be played on Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh desktop computers or laptops (Microsoft Windows XP/2000/Me/98, or Apple Mac OS X 10.3.9 and above) using an SD memory card slot or adapter, like those for digital cameras. Audiobook chips also move seamlessly to most Palm OS and Pocket PC handheld PDAs with SD expansion slots, as well as Treo and Windows Mobile "smartphones" (Palm OS 5.2 or Windows Mobile 2002 and above).Audiofy audiobook chips avoid the lengthy downloading or "syncing" of other digital formats. Audiofy audiobook chips offer "no look" navigation, announcing your listening position with two button clicks and letting you jump to other lessons in seconds. It's also ideal for anyone hindered by the small displays on some devices. Since university linguist Dr. Paul Pimsleur designed courses that are almost entirely audio-based, they are suitable for traveling, commuting or exercising. With Audiofy audiobook chips, this proven technique is now more convenient than ever.

Pimsleur on chip worked out for me December 11, 2008 If you're looking at Spanish III from Pimsleur you should have some basic Spanish conversational skills either from completing Spanish I & II or from other life experience. Here's what to expect: Pimsleur Spanish III begins with you, the listener, at a dinner party. You'll hear a conversation with many speakers and you'll follow along. The discussions get more involved as you go through the course.
I've used the CD courses and the chip versions. While CDs are nice to slide into your car stereo I found that they weren't worth the extra money or headache of losing and scratching them compared to the audiobook chip. One SD card (or audiobook chip as Audiofy calls them) contains all 16 hours of the course. The company also has a free download of software that let me zip to my iPod in about ten minutes. That's a lot faster than ripping 16 CDs in case you haven't tried it. So I can keep my audiobook chip at home and take my iPod with me and study anywhere I want.
I find the little audiobook chips to be a lot of bang for the buck and I also recommend Pimsleur absolutely over the Software products out there (Rosetta, etc.) It really worked for me.

These chips are tiny and can easily be lost. I lost the chips and customer support's attitude is "that's too bad." If I had bought the same lessons on cd then Simon and Schuster would have replaced them but audiofy will not replace the chip. I brought the language chips through the airport and never saw them again. These chips are too expensive to throw away.
