Oh the curse-ed X-Box August 4, 2006 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love soccer games, having been exposed to them on my little brothers X-box any time I went home to my parents house. My wife bought me this game so I wouldn't always want to go over and play and it is not near as good. The game is essentially the same, but the graphics aren't nearly as good and I still like to go to my parents house to get my soccer fix from video games. The buttons and game play and action are identical, just those blasted graphics. I wish I would have waited until the new Nintendo comes out this Christmas.
Best Soccer Game That You Can Buy July 31, 2006 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I can honestly say that this is the best soccer game on the market. Even though the reviews lie about 15-year manager mode, this game is still a steal at only [...]. In the all new penalty shootout, the goalkeeper can move around to try to distract the kicker. Global challenge is a fun way to try to complete objectives of famous world cup matches and qualification rivalries for each qualification zone. Once you complete the first set of global challenege you then recieve new challeneges to complete based on past world cup finals. The lounge is an excellent multiplayer battle with the objective of taking over other people's countries once you defeated them. Up to eight players can participate. This is the best soccer game on the market and i recommend you purchase it for only [....].
Excellent updated soccer outing June 22, 2006 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I haven't played an official FIFA game since the 1998 Sega Saturn release but I spent enough time with that one to appreciate all of the polish that the latest in the series offers. The game of soccer translates well to video games in that it is a graceful and exciting game that requires focus from participants in the real world or digital realm, just play some old NES soccer and you will see that even that title holds up. What we have here is the newest kit on the block and it plays well. The animations and graphics are top notch to the point where broadcast tv and videogames are getting harder to tell apart. Where this title excels is in its ability to really make you part of the game, the players control smoothly and once you get passing, shooting and defense down you can up the difficulty level so that you are never ahead of the game. The stellar points system allows you to buy old players like PELE and official shoes, balls etc..however this title is lacking any kind of franchise or manager mode, so this is really for the fan who wants to take an international team through the qualifications and ultimately the FIFA WORLD CUP FINALS. The other 2006 FIFA release does have a franchise mode however. You can still create new players and lineups quite easily though. Excellent playability and smooth well thought out controls make this the game that is currently giving me nerve damage in my left thumb. Can't put it down and the multiplayer is excellent with up to 4 in a contest. Recommended for the those coming down with WORLD CUP sniffles or even the fever.
