Product Description The Lexar CF25612251 has harnessed the speed and power of USB technology to provide an easy-to-use, low-cost image-transfer solution for the digital photography enthusiast. With 256 MB memory capacity, this CompactFlash memory storage card is capable of storing high-resolution audio and video files. Lexar's USB-enabled CompactFlash digital film and JumpShot-connection kit let you quickly capture high-resolution images and easily transfer them to a PC or Mac through the USB port on your computer. There's no lengthy installation process and no need for a separate card reader. With Lexar Media's JumpShot-connection kit, you can now transfer your CompactFlash images to your computer up to 25 times faster than your camera's serial cable connection.
Amazon.com Product Description Lexar Media's high-speed digital film helps your camera capture images faster, so you spend more time taking pictures and less time waiting on your camera. Lexar's CompactFlash cards are individually speed rated so you know the minimum capability of the card. Lexar uses the same rating system used by the CD-ROM industry, where a data transfer rate of 1x equals 150 kilobytes per second (KBps). The higher the speed rating, the faster your camera will be able to write images to the memory card. For professional shooters who need immediate confirmation they've captured the shot or who want to identify accurate exposure levels or bracketing range, Lexar's patented 12X speed (1.8 MBps) transfer rate makes the card ideal for fast-paced applications such as photojournalism, sports, and fashion. And Lexar's solid-state design provides reliability in harsh shooting environments, mandated by professionals throughout the world. The Digital Film Compliance seal assures you that your Lexar Media digital film is 100 percent compatible with your CompactFlash digital camera. It can also be used in all other digital devices that support the CompactFlash format, such as PDAs, video recorders, and MP3 players. All Lexar Media CompactFlash cards meet the CompactFlash Association's specifications and are marked with the CF+ symbol.

Lexar Media 256 MB USB 12X High-Speed CF Card March 26, 2006 I have two of these cards and both work great. Response time is excellent. Absolutely no problems.
Great card for the Money! November 27, 2005 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I remember purchasing this memory card by Lexar Media about 2 years ago when I purchased my Canon Powershot S230 Digital Camera (Which is s great camera at the time). Not only does this card work like a charm, but the speeds on it are excellent. I take pictures at the resolution of 2048x1536 resolution (Max on the Canon Powershot S230, which comes to around 700-900KB in size. The 12x Card saves the pictures in matter of nano seconds.
Another feature that makes the 12x card great is when you're flipping through the camera to see which pictures you've taken on your digital camera. Especially when it comes to the high resolution pictures, this could take a few seconds extra. The 12x Lexar Media makes it very simple and quick to scan these pictures. It could get a hassle when you have 100-200 of your favorite pictures and scanning through them, and worrying about each picture "loading".
It's also great when you're connected to a usb memory card reader. This is where it really shines. Lexar Media's 12x speed card transfers at a rate of 1.8MBps (150KB/sec x 12). When you're transferring images from your memory card to your PC, makes data transfers that much quicker. It take extra time when you have a slower card and transferring at 4x~8x speed. Obviously there are some faster cards out there these days that will transfer at 24x speeds. Even though this maybe an outdated card for most "High end camera" users, but to the others that are still looking for something that would be packable, and still affordable, Lexar Media 256MB 12X Compact Card Flash is great!!

Great flash card, great company! February 8, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Not only is this a great flash card, the company is great to deal with. On our recent vacation, I accidently deleted all our pictures. I thought they were lost! A friend suggested we try to find someone to try and recover the lost pictures. After several inquires I was directed to send the disk back to the manufacturer with a description of what happened. I called a service rep at Lexar and he said if I sent it to them they would give it a try. To my surprise, they were able to recover the lost pictures and returned my flashcard at no cost. Thanks again to Lexar, you've earned a loyal customer.
