I recently started purchasing monster cable products from Amazon's retailers to upgrade my stereo. Their RCA cables may be a thing of the past soon with the advent of HDMI and fiber optic cables. My stereo is 20 years old and consists of seperate components (preamp, power amps, EQ, range expander, CD/DVD player etc) so I needed some heavy duty cabling to replace the old thin "no name, no blame" connector cabling. The good news is the price on these premium cables is a lot lower now then when they first came out. Many retailers don't even carry these things so I decided to snatch them up.
I used these cables (the THX ULT-800 and I1000 series) cables to connect the preamp / DSP / poweramps.
There was a noticable difference in signal strenght and quality using Monster cabling between all the components. I used to hear a "hiss" noise in the background---it's now gone. The shielding used in these thick cables is very good. What's really cool is how thick these cables are. You can feel and hear the quality in them. I also used a lot of the Interconnect 400 series to connect the EQ /Tape loop/Range expander portion of the stereo. Those connectors are not as premium as the THX ULTI800 / 1000 series but they are still very good. Again, Amazon's stellar retailers have these things and they are a good deal for the money. Get them while you still can!
