Product Description Enjoy in-car entertainment from your iPod music collection. An interface cable and black box allow connection of an Apple Computers iPod to the changer control terminal of the head unit for playback over the vehicle sound system. What's more, you also get display of the Playlist, Genre, Artist and Album Names on the head unit for greater convenience.

Kenwood KCA-iP500 iPod Interface December 26, 2008 Kenwood KCA-iP500 iPod Interface Although easy to connect, not easy to work. The search is not available and you have to disconnect to get the tunes you want to play. You basically have to creat a playlist and then try with luck find it. Pioneer is a lot easier to work.
It works great! November 26, 2008 Installation was easy and it has worked great. It is easily controlled by my Kenwood stereo and we haven't had any issues.
Don't Waste Your Money November 6, 2008 I do not recommend this product. It is unreasonably difficult and time-consuming to navigate through your ipod's library via the head unit's goofy controls, and it does not allow you to use the thumb wheel instead. Save yourself the money and buy a simple adapter cord (e.g. PAC's) or save even more money and buy a different head unit. The only reason- and I mean ONLY- I gave this a 2 star vice 1 is the sound quality is awesome. Unfortunately getting to hear anything but the first song on my ipod, alphabetically speaking, is near impossible. To change artist you have to first push "SCN" on the head unit twice to go from 'playlist' select to 'artist' select mode. Then can you hit the flimsy little "control stick" on the head unit up to select the second artist alphabetically, again for the third, and so on, etc. Takes TOO long. On top of all this, the display (on my HU anyway) is only one line. So you have to decide if you want to know what artist it is, or what song it is, but not both. The ONLY way I could see this being somewhat useful is if you are a playlist fanatic, and you know what songs, and in what order, you are going to listen to. In that case you could make the playlist, title it so it's alphabetically first on the ipod, and then plug it and go. Last but certainly not least, my ipod hasn't crashed in 2.5 yrs of ownership, but has crashed twice (once I had to reload the WHOLE thing) in using this product for 2 weeks. Coincidence? Buy something else!
Not for newest iPods or iPhones November 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this for an iPod Classic that I bought at the same time. While it does technically work, however, it will not charge my new iPod. Sometimes when I turn the radio on, it says that the iPod is ejected even though it's plugged in. After turning the radio off and back on, or unplugging and re-plugging the iPod, it will see the iPod but start over at playlist 1 song 1. Lately it's also had a bad habit of draining the iPod battery completely overnight. A search online for troubleshooting shows that people with the newest Apple offerings in all iPod categories are having the same issues with this adapter and even with other manufacturers' adapters. I borrowed an older iPod for testing, and it works like it's supposed to.
So if you have an older iPod, this is a handy adapter for your radio. But if you have a new iPod, you should instead replace your head unit with one of the latest iPod compatible ones. Very disappointing.
Buen producto September 14, 2008 Lo conecte a mi reproductor KDC-MP2032 y funciono perfectamente. No necesita ningun cable ni conector adicional. Es un poco complejo para utilizarlo, pero es bastante eficiente. Y una de las ventajas es que mantiene cargada la bateria del iPod.
