What a find! January 7, 2009 This was the best thing we could have found! I got this for my husband as a gift and he was up and running in just a few moments. It made the whole deal easy and simple. Definite recommend
If you're patient and read the instructions, you'll be good January 2, 2009 I don't know why so many people have trouble with this. Install the software plug it in and away you go. I will admit the PC software is clunky but the Audiogy for the Mac is flawless. Amazon had it for $99 so at that price it's worth it IMHO. Plus I needed a deck and they're hard to find nowadays so this fits the bill. But it's a low end deck no mistaking that, but for playback it's fine. I like it! Kudos to ION!
help! cAN'T GET SPEAKERS TO WORK WITH THIS December 29, 2008 We have tried most settings and we just can't get the speakers to work so we can't listen to the tapes as they are recorded/converted, so we don't know when songs start and stop. Very frustrating and there is no tech support number. We have a new pc with vista. Any help ideas?
General Information December 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased the unit a week ago and have been marginally satisfied. (1) The left deck makes a very loud clacking/clicking noise while the tape is advancing. The right one doesn't make the same noise, so I know it's not the cassett. (2) About once a hour or so, I get a very loud distorted noise. Sounds like a radio station that's not exactly on the station. Shhhhhhhhhhing. Usually not repeated if I stop the recording and start over. I left a message on Ion's website a few minutes ago. Hopefully, I'll get an informed reply.
General Comments: (1) I agree with the previous posters remarks about Gracenote. It's a waste of time and very annoying. I tend to be an inpatient person, so IT'S REALLY ANNOYING. Haven't yet found a way to by-pass it. (2) Other posters also commented about the double listings and shadows of recordings in I-Tunes. (3) Ion should come up with a way to do the transfer without the need for three pieces of software. One would work just fine: Step 1-Record; Step 2-Automatically convert to MP3 format when all tracks recorded. DONE!!!!
ION TAPE2PC December 22, 2008 Works as advertised. As a MAC user I found Audacity to be a better software choice than EZ Tape Converter as it does not force you to use iTunes. Copy to disk using Audacity, use Audacity to remove noise and edit tracks, export to AIFF (works in my car) and burn to an audio CD. Good deal!
