Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The TPS II (Tube Preamp System 2) is a two channel high performance preamplifier coupled with ARTs proprietary V3 (Variable Valve Voicing) functionality. With variable valve voicing, the TPS II is completely versatile and maintains a high quality of performance you would expect from an ART tube preamp. The TPS II also features variable input impedance which allows users to dial in and match any microphone type from large condensers to ribbon mics.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars No less than what you'd expect   August 9, 2008
I bought this preamp after my father bought the DI version for his acoustic guitar. This is exactly like the DI with a few enhancements.

PROS: The controls are all the same as the DI. A big plus for me is that the inputs are on both the front and back. This allows me to leave the TPS connected to my patch-bay, or plug in a bass or mic directly into the rack. Phantom power, phase invert, pad, LED and analog VU meters are all accruements you'd find on more expensive preamps.

CONS: The tube 'glow' is artificial, two orange LEDs behind the 12AX7 provide. Stock tube is pretty low quality.

Well worth the money for a great bass DI and backup tube mic pre. Great for organs/keyboards too (2 ch).
