looks and sounds greatNovember 25, 2008 This a/v stereo cable is a lot better than the rf unit cable I was using before.The sound is nice and sounds just like the my Playstation 2 or Dreamcast,and thats good for an older system.I couldn't tell if the picture was better because I have a hdtv so it already looked really good,but it was probably improved over the rf unit.I recommend this stereo cable because I could use it on my switch box for easy connection instead of hooking it up to the back of the television.I could not see any cons about this cable it's great and easy to connect for the classic Genesis system.

If you have a Sega Genesis that fits this cord (not sure which models work although I know at least the 3rd gen doesn't) then you must have this cable. The only reason I give it a 4 and not a 5 is that it doesn't work with all iterations of the Genesis and it is for an out of date console.

If you are a hardcore Genesis player you have to get this! (make sure you have a Genesis model 2 though - he compact one without the volume control or headphone jack - or it won't work) The difference between mono and stereo sound is very noticable, whether coming through my stereo TV speakers or a pair of stereo headphones. The quality of games is enhanced - the sound effects, the music - because it's all in full stereo. You'll even hear things you've never heard before while playing your favorite game!
