One Great Game November 20, 2008 If you like the old double dragon or Golden Axe games you will love this game. The graphics and sound are top notch. You go through a mansion room at a time and fight all the ghoulies. There is a ton of power-ups and weapons. It can get a touch repetitive, but that just goes with the genre.
The most unique beat em' up adventure ever made! September 21, 2007 Cooper, a teenager (probably 14 or 15), is attacked by monsters. But instead of squealing [just because he doesn't have a gun], he beats up his enemies with furniture and objects around him; as well as using his powerful teenage body to attack monsters unarmed! In any story, monsters would never expect that; and I believe that some people who played this game learned new courage and reckless bravery.
It is a pretty difficult game the first time through, but it's so freaking funny that you'll laugh off your frusteration! The clumsy monsters often cause more damage than you do; and make such hilarious groans, moans, and noises. I have memories of laughing until my sides hurt while playing the game, because the monsters were such reckless idiots! Even when you lose, the game has no game over, so losing is almost worth it, because it's so insanely funny.
The game controls are also as unique as the game itself. You use the right joystick to attack; along with the freedom of 360 degree attack angles; plus adjust camera angles with the 2 triggers on the X-box controller for less awkward perspective while in combat. The only downside is that you can't jump or climb, but the game is still insanely fun, WAY under-rated, and far too unknown [there never was a platinum hit edition of the game]. It strongly diserves a sequel, and I'm sad that it didn't get the ratings it deserved. For those of you who haven't played it, buy it, because a few nights of renting it won't be enough time for you to get used to it and stick with it. It's WAY too fun a game to give up so hastily, so have fun!
fun but hard February 26, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this game when i was about 8 and now im 11 and it was fun then and its fun now but it took me about 4 years to beat.It got kind of old after i played the first chapter but i kept on comin back and tryin but in the end my friend beat it for me. It is a long game and is challenging but you should rent it first because if you are 13 or 14 you probley wouldnt like it.
Rare makes anouther masterpiece. February 4, 2006 People that belive this game is too kiddy and disided not to by this game. This game is fun. This game was composed by "Grant Kirkhope" the man that made music for legindary games like (Perfect Dark, and Goldeneye 007) many more but music for those games ruled; Grabbed By The Ghoulies music is no exeption. The gameplay is fun and challenging; I don't know how a six year old could take this game at such difficultly. I enjoy the Ghoullies and and the characters you meet around the mansion. This game prooves Rare still has it.
People this game cost $14.99 plus tax; common by it; this is a present for a price a great game.
Pretty bad game July 8, 2005 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
This game looked pretty cool when i got it for x-mas but when i sat down and played it it wasn't very fun. All you do is go around beating up gouhls all the time it gets very boring. So if you still think this game is cool then rent it first and see if you like it.
