Barely makes PSP any louder =( August 17, 2008 How fun is this game???? WHAT?!? Why does Amazon ask this question? This is not a game.
I don't know if this is supposed to sound this way or not but these speakers do not make it a lot louder than it is without them. Maybe this is all it is supposed to do? Give a very very VERY tiny boost? I probably would not have purchased this if I knew how low it would still be. I got this for my husband because the sound was way too low originally but I guess you just can't get a very loud sound in a compact speaker. I can't say I'm NOT disappointed though. The speakers on a chair he has that you can connect PSP to are much much louder but you can't carry this chair around so I thought this theater experience would be perfect for him but it is FAR from theater-like sound in any way... and he still has to get really close to hear it decent... Oh well you live and you learn.
The portability and the case that holds PSP is great but if the speakers are no good then there really is no point.
PSP Theatre Experience October 25, 2007 I studied for few months before I bought this. The reviews from the people who bought this product are very usefull to me. This is a well designed, well balanced, good sound piece of electronic. Whoever has PSP should buy this not only for the sound but also for good case protector. Go ahead buy it at Amazon which has the lowest price on the Web and the delivery is way ahead of schedule.
Good buy, happy with it June 9, 2007 It does everything it says it does, and has a nice, sturdy feel and weight. You get the feeling it will last a loooong time unlike the vast array of expensive but cheap plastic accessories out there.
I guess I would like to have seen them use the space a little bit better, there is a lot of room that could have been used.

Updated Review of Nyko Theater Experience February 1, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a review of the second generation model of the Nyko Theater Experience. The first generation model had problems with the rechargeable battery and the speakers; I am happy to report that the second generation model has fixed these issues and the result is a FANTASTIC product that is recommended without reservation. First and foremost, the Nyko Theater Experience is a hard case for the Sony PSP. As a hard case it does its job very well. I have accidentally dropped my PSP (while in the case) a few times and am happy to report NO damage to either the case or the PSP. The case is well made, looks good, and has a couple of very useful ports. I really like the fact that the battery in the case can recharge your PSP from either in or out of the case. The two headphone jacks are also a very nice touch. The only thing that might bother some people is the relatively bulky form factor of the Nyko Theater Experience. I argue that since it holds the PSP, has a viewing stand, and speakers built in, one will have to sacrifice some portability for the features listed. This case easily fits into a bag and one never has to worry about the PSP getting damaged either. How do you know that the model you have a second generation model? First off, I don't think they make the first generation model anymore. Secondly, the bottom of the case features an On/Off switch that allows the user to recharge their PSP battery. The first generation model does not have the On/Off switch. This is a VERY important feature and one of the smartest things that Nyko could have done in designing this case. The viewing stand works well. The little plastic mounts are somewhat fragile, but overall I think they're well built. You'd really have to put in some force to break the stand as some people have. Treat your PSP like the expensive piece of hardware that it is and you won't have any problems. The speakers on this case do a pretty good job with respect to sound quality. Obviously they are not the best speakers around, but they do the job and they do it pretty well. The speakers do not get very loud, but one should have those expectations considering they are portable speakers. All in all, these speakers more than get the job done for mobile gaming, music, and videos. I work in a restaurant and keep the Nyko Theater Experience in the kitchen with me while at work to listen to music. It more than amplifies the sound for all to listen to (even on busy nights)! The Nyko Theater Experience is an EXCELLENT product and in my opinion, a MUST HAVE accessory for the PSP. It protects the PSP, recharges it, gives it another 7 hours of battery life, and adds a very respectable set of speakers to boot. Best Buy sells this product for $84 (what a rip off)! I found it at a local GameStop for $39.99. At that price point you'd be a fool to not pick one up. GO GET ONE NOW!
