Lunchtime Pirating November 25, 2008 This handheld game is pretty much the same as the computer version. It is great for lunchtime gaming, or any other time you want to play a game for 30 minutes or so. Just like the computer game, it would get repetitive if played for hours on end, but it is a really fun classic.
Highs: Addictive and not overly difficult for quick games Can be saved at any time Animations good for PSP
Lows: Too easy for long term gaming Dancing still a bit annoying, but easier than on computer Fights are repetitive
Overall: A great short time game. Good for on the go or a quick pirate fix. I'd like to try the multiplayer sometime. Yarr!
Extremely Fun!!! July 29, 2008 Sid Meier's Pirates captures all of the excitment of captaining a ship in the 1800 and 1900 centeries. During the game, you live the life of an upcoming pirate leader in the caribean. conquering and plundering enemy ships are just a miniscule sample of what you'll get to do throughout the course of Sid Meier's Pirates. You can siege towns, find buired treasure and move up the rankings of the top ten pirates on the seas. There are also many little stories or missions in this game but none of which are timed. Overall Sid Meier's Pirates is a fascinating, Fun and Injoyable game for many mouths on end. I strongly recomend Sid Meier's Pirates for the PSP.
Brief Fun June 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The game is instantly addicting, but after staying up all night to play it, it gets pretty monotonous fast. Especially the dancing.
Okay for the PSP but not great May 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The game looks fun but follow through is mediocre. I guess you can't expect computer strategy on a handheld. It will keep you attention for a while but the game gets a little monotonous after two hours of play. Nice try but no cigar.
