Beat it in 4 hrs November 18, 2008 Sure the game is fun for the extremely short time it can provide new levels. I assumed there were 8 levels of 3 or 4 worlds each, but there are about 8 total worlds to beat and they are not that difficult. granted I played it on Normal setting (there are 3 difficulty setings, normal is the lowest) but that does not mean there are really 24 boards, it's still the same game. One should not be able to beat any game on any system in the same day one opens the package, no matter how hard you try. All DS games have this problem to a greater or lesser degree I find, but this is ridiculous. At least I only paid something like 8 bucks for it in the first place; Now I know why.
Changing weapons really isn't hard. September 19, 2008 Reiterating what has already been said for this game, it's got great graphics and it's lots of fun. Adding on, you've got four unique weapons, which each have higher output firing, so you really have eight weapons. Well, the side-blasting gun's greater blast isn't really a distinct weapon; it's just a boosted version of the original. Let's just say, then, that you have seven distinct weapons.
Several reviewers have complained that you need a third hand to switch weapons... Changing weapons really isn't hard, though! Just use your thumb. You'll likely have to wipe your screen every now-and-then as a result, but it beats shopping for a third hand or going through the game without varying weapons.
It really is a solid game, and I would suggest (like everyone else) that you grab a copy -- especially considering the price. For further enjoyment of the game (and every other game out there), I also recommend a DS Codebreaker. Some people say cheating is for losers, but you mustn't look at it like that; think of it more as enabling yourself a custom gaming experience! *Fun, fun!*

Nanostray Reviewed fo shizzle May 9, 2008 I've heard many great things about this old style shooter and couldn't wait to get my hands on it myself. Well I finally did and let me say it definitely is reminiscent of games like Axelay. The Graphics are top notch for being on the Nintendo DS and the levels are challenging. The only problem I have is how they've implemented the touch screen feature which seems awkward to say the least. In order to change weapons you have to touch the screen, but this becomes difficult in the middle of all the action that occurs. It might have been better to assign this to a button and do away with the touch portion. But an option is to avoid using the stylus altogether and just tap with your finger, but that would leave your screen with prints in the end. This is minor but hopefully this issue has been resolved in Nanostray 2. I definitely recommend a purchase of this game if you really are into the space shooter genre that has the graphic and gameplay to boot.
Okay July 14, 2007 This game is basically a classic space shooter game with better effects. It's not incredibly fun IMO.
