5 out of 5 stars BEST FISHING GAME!!!!   May 28, 2007
The people up their are playing a different game then!!! And you don't fish by leaving your bait somewhere for 20 mins. You drive your cool little boat around and cast 2-3 times at several locations until you come across a big fish. There are tons of places to cast, and they are easy to find. It is easy and fun to catch the fish, especially the 15 - 20 pounders. Great Game!

1 out of 5 stars oh please, this game is horrible!   January 27, 2004

Super Black Bass might have better graphics and sound than the original Black Bass on the NES, but that doesn't mean *anything* to me!

One big problem: where are all the fish??? I throw my line in the water and, even though the water LOOKS better on the Super NES than on the NES, the waves can actually make me seasick (and I found out last year what it's like to be seasick, and it's really a bad feeling!)

I don't get it: I sit there with my line in the water. 20 minutes go by and I STILL haven't seen a fish! It's like in real-life when you fish in the Atlantic Ocean after a hurricane (or any kind of severe storm) and all of a sudden NOTHING is there. Where did all the fish go? Playing the Black Bass on the NES was a lot more fun because you had fish coming out the you-know-what. In the NES game, lots and lots of fish came up and took the bait, in a matter of minutes. In this version, 20 minutes go by and I STILL don't see anything!

When I finally DO see a fish (after taking a nap) it never gets near my line, so I'm left feeling like I wasted all that time.

Super Black Bass gives you more options than the NES version, but it doesn't matter since you can never catch any fish. This game didn't go down as a classic *thankfully* (which I was concerned might happen 8 years ago). Skip it! Pick up the original NES Black Bass instead and have a fishingly good time! If you pick up this version, pack a few extra sandwiches!

2 out of 5 stars Not that great   September 8, 2000

"Black Bass" is not the best fishing game you can get. It has mediocre graphics, decent sound, but it's not that fun. Even if you're catching tons of fish, it's not that fun. I got tired of playing it after about 30 minutes. Luckily, I just borrowed this one from a friend. I have a fishing game called "Bassin's Black Bass" and it features Hank Parker, and it's a great fishing game.

Bottom line, if you like good fishing games, don't get this one.

2 out of 5 stars Not a good fishing game   April 11, 2000

The only good part about it is the control. The graphics are nothing to brag about, the sound is average, and the fun factor is the worst part of it. Catching the fish is too easy in some parts and the levels lack original ideas. I got bored of this game after getting halfway through the second level.

If you want a good fishing game for the Super Nintendo, get Bassin's Black Bass by T-HQ. The game features Hank Parker and it has everything that Super Black Bass lacks.
