Amazon.com Product Description It is the twilight of the Clans. The Inner Sphere's massive counterstrike against the vicious Smoke Jaguar Clan rages on, but victory is elusive. Your mission: conduct a high-impact commando raid on one of the last Clan outposts--and possibly break the back of the Clans forever. But be warned, MechWarrior, for you face the battle-hardened elite of a once superior force. In this, their last stand, it is you who risk extinction! This Gold edition also includes the MechWarrior 3 expansion Pirate's Moon. This expansion lets you face an all-new foe in a series of new scenarios, including battles in the cold vacuum of space.

Fun For Beginners January 6, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I found Pirate's Moon to be a walk in the park playing on the hardest setting. I don't understand how one of the previous reviewers can complain about the difficulty of this game. I zoomed through all 10 levels against the pirates in under 8 hours from installing it on my laptop. I simply mounted 4 ER PPCs and a Gaus Rifle and alpha striked all incoming mechs from a distance. They fell like apples from a tree. It was too easy. Even the Atlas put up little fight. The Clint II and Centurion were much more dangerous b/c they were fast and fired frequently. The graphics are really good, the music is really cool too but if you want a more challenging game, I highly recommend Mechwarrior 4 Mercinaries and the Black Knight expansion pack. I was always under the impression that this was a difficult game, but after perfecting my skills with MW4, this felt like a joke. The game is a classic though and that I appreciate. It's a must have for all mechwarrior fans but don't expect too much you may be dissapointed.
This game is worth to play [and still is] August 21, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game is cool and has Pirates moon [expansion pack] and the original. the graphics are cool and i think are more realistic than MW4 [no offense to those who like MW4 better]. I highly reccomend this game. Note to XP owners: do not worry if the game does not work on windows XP, try using program compalability, I used it on my XP [i got for christmas] and it worked just fine but on Pirates moon the font will be readable but look horrible [i think they could]. So if you like Mechwarrior. I highly reccomend this game. One more note: the reason why i thnk this is more realistic, because if you shoot at a Mech [on it's side usually] you will *usually* see the mechs internal wiring, making feel more live.
I can't compliment it enough.... May 24, 2003 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
This game is what the Mechwarrior universe is all about. We have a story and some action. The graphics are excellent, and the story is decent, for a video game. While the story in the game isn't as involved or character driven as the story of Mechwarrior 4: Vengeance, I think it does it's job. Where this game really shines, even outshines MW4, is the player interface. This game is easier to play, and I think better overall than MW4 because of it. A storyline is only about 10% of a game, while the interface is what you have to deal with throughout it. A game as complex as this needs a good one. The mouse-controlled, moving targetting reticle is one of the points that makes this one better than MW4. If you want a good story, get MW4, if you want good (and easy to control) gameplay, get this one. One word of warning, this game will NOT play in Windows 2000. I have a dual-boot system with Win2k and Win98, so I can still enjoy it.
Excellent entertainment value!! March 29, 2003 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This was well worth it!! You get both games for one low price, all the manuals, and documentation all packed into one little box! Both games play real nice on Windows 9x and Windows 2000. Game play was compairable to the beloved Mech 2. If you don't have your own copy of this game, I'd say grab both of them now while you can find'm especially if this is one of your favored types of games. I personally really enjoyed replaying them as i switched to a optical mouse which seemed to make things a bit easier!
better than expected February 18, 2003 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This game is awesome. I am so impressed with that I had to write this review. I recommend it to anyone interested in the Mech universe. The graphics are way better than expected, audio is great and effects are the best. I'm looking forward to this evening when I can start the next mission!Go get it!!!
