I bought this game for my son for Christmas. He loves Dino's so I thought this was perfect. Some of the levels are hard due to repeated action with the buttons. But overall it's a really great game. I am 34 and loved this game as much as my 7 yr old. I would reccomend this game to any GBA owner.

3 out of 5 stars Concerned about repetitive motion injuries!!   September 15, 2002

I bought this game for my nine-year-old son and he loves it. The graphics are outstanding. The game play is creative and varied, and generally a lot of fun; and the music is better than any I've yet heard coming out of a GBA game.

BUT...

My concern with this game, (and the only reason I've given it 3 rather than 5 stars), is that some of the levels require repeated, very fast pressing of the same button continuously in order to pass the level... The faster you repeatedly press the A button the faster you go, and if you don't go fast enough, you lose... and when you aren't needing to go fast enough to keep up, speedwise, you need to be manning the B button repeatedly to knock out the bad guys that are flying around, coming after you!... Then the next level requires repeated pressing of the A button again, just to make the guy move (again the faster you press, the faster he goes) I am concerned that our gaming kids may be setting themselves up for problems like repetitive motion injuries, down the road. The game is very compelling and the kids don't like to put it down... but you may want to enforce limited session times (especially when they are on levels requiring this repeated button hitting) just to give their poor cramped hands and wrists a break! (I'm really bummed they designed the control functionality this way, it seems so unneccessary and the game is otherwise quite good!)

That being said, many of the levels have control functioning that is not so stressful and more in keeping with what you may be used to from other GBA games. Anyway, this is just something I wish I'd known before I purchased Dinotopia.
