Product Description The Thing takes you on a new mission full of terrifying and shocking confrontations with an enemy no human has faced before!
Amazon.com Product Description Based on the same elements that made the movie so enjoyable--fear, suspense, and the possibility that your teammate might be infected--The Thing lets players creep into action with the help of several nonplayer characters (NPCs), whom you use to protect and aid your group. Using a core team of engineers, medics, and soldiers, players must manage the level of trust in, and fear of, you that these characters experience. They react to your actions and might betray you if they think you are the Thing. Conversely, you must constantly monitor which one of them might be infected. Other characters must trust you, but if they fear you, actions as drastic as coercion are necessary. For example, if a soldier doesn't have confidence in you, you may have to put your gun to his head to convince him you're not the Thing... and for his sake, he'd better believe.

The Thing for Xbox December 26, 2007 The game is just okay. Haven't had a chance to play it for long, so my review is premature.
Great!!!! December 2, 2007 As a fan of John Carpenter's 1982 cult classic The Thing, I have to say that I loved this game. The history of games based on movies and movies based on games have proven to be poor for the most part but it's not the case here. This game is a sequel to the film which was executed very, very well. It has a good story, but what impressed me the most was the gameplay, especially managing fear and trust with your squad members which was a theme in the movie. If your a fan of survival horror, this games for you, if your a fan of the movie, this is definitely for you.
Another title that you can play on Xbox 360 May 30, 2007 You know it's cheaper to buy used Xbox Games to play on Xbox 360 especially when you have HDTV and component cable. This is great renewal of game experience in all new level. Especially, nowadays with Xbox 360 being mainstream, the game prices of used Xbox games are going down fast. Better get those games before all turns into collectibles.
Five Stars Means Five Times The Horror Gore And Suspense September 27, 2006 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I saw this game's ad on tv and thought wow I love games like that and went to Game Stop and bought it because I collected almost all games like that Resident Evil Evil Dead Doom and I think it would be cool to own a game like that so I put it into my Xbox and started playing it takes place in the arctic and its about this creature who kills and eats people to survive the creature is furry big and kind of like a bear and the gamer is a soldier and he or she leads a team of enginners scientists and soldiers to find the thing and put an end to it but along the way you encounter the things doing and you never know what will be around the corner basicly its a horror action shooter and its super scary and very bloody sometimes things pop out of the dark creatures besides the thing have been attracted by the blood and you and your team and what makes it even more scary are the blizzard missions in those missions you hafe to move in all directions to keep up with the monster and you can easaly freeze to death so you and your team take turns chasing the thing and you very offten encounter dead people eaten by the thing or froze to death somtimes the thing gets so mad that it just jumps at you from nowhere and blood splaters on the snow and you hafe to rapidly toggle the triggers to break free so to avoid that you hafe to stay 5 feet away from the thing and 5 feet close to the thing and I got killed at this game alot so buy the strategy guide and it will become easyer to beat it I got to the final showdown in 4 weeks so buy it or are you a sissy beleve me im 18 years old and still get scared just buy it jeez these people
A Terrifyingly Fun Game August 23, 2004 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
The Thing rocks. From the very begining this game is scary. You start out as a soldier sent out looking for survivors in a destroyed science base in antarctica but find only mangled or frozen bodies, and scattered papers that describe some kind of mutating infection. Later you find a fellow soldier, cowering in a corner, surrounded by mutilated bodys and babbeling about an unknown horror. This horror, the thing, is a virus that mutates anyone infected by it into a nightmarish beast. Your fellow soldiers suspect everyone of being infected and paranoia sets in. In this game you not only have to fight the monsters, but also cope with your teammates fears. A great story, cool weapons, and managing fear make The Thing a grade A horror game. The gory content of this game also makes it scary. Finding an evecerated corpse impaled upon its own severed limb, while your men cringe nervously as they hear strange shrieks and growels coming from the shadows, really adds up to a terrify game. I love this game and all my buddys who have rented or borrowed it ended up buying it because they loved it so much too. If you enjoy horror games or are a fan of the movie than buy it because this will blow you away. (you should also see the movie if you havent already, its great)
