 Equal parts boredom and frustration July 31, 2008
I bought this game because of the picture on the box - well, forget about seeing that "feature" in the game. You get a rather primitively animated character. So how's the gameplay? Not too great. You'll spend a lot of time standing around waiting for stuff to happen. Wait...and wait and wait and wait...for some guy to walk down a hallway so you can sneak behind him. Wait for some guy to show up so you can shoot him. Wait for a camera to sweep in the other direction so you can sneak around it. The controls of the game don't lend themselves to any sort of exciting battles either. If you want to keep your weapon drawn, you can only move slowly. You get a little red dot to designate what you're aiming at - it's pretty hard to see. You'll stand there getting shot as you try to locate where your little red dot is.
Two other really bad things about this game is that it constantly leaves you wandering around with no idea where you're supposed to go or what you're supposed to do. Also, you'll quite often fail the mission and have no idea what you did wrong. Just try something a little bit different next time. And try again. And again. Then consult a walkthrough on the internet.
The second time I played through it, I got to one point in the game where there was supposed to be a cutscene, which would then lead to the next part of the mission. But the cutscene never played. I did everything I was supposed to do, but the game just seemed stuck there. Anyhow, it's not nearly fun enough to make me really want to figure out what was wrong, so I just went on to a different game.
Overall, I'd recommend skipping this one. It's just not much fun at all.

I bought this game because of the reviews. I liked it, but I found it to be too easy to beat. Glad I didn't pay much for it.

I bought my copy for $6.99 at EB Games--brand new! And for that price, you can't find too much wrong with it. Yes, it's a blatant rip-off of Splinter Cell (with a healthy dose of Tomb Raider, Syphon Filter and a pinch of Metal Gear Solid mixed in), but it's fun in it's own right. The graphics are actually pretty good, not Splinter Cell quality, but what is? And the voice acting is better than expected. If you like stealth games, then I recommend you buy Rogue Ops. At this price, why rent it?

The game is frustrating. That's simply it. There are only eight stages, and all the people I know that play this game say it's frustrating.The controls hurt. The graphics aren't moving at 60 FPS, so the controls are clumsy. Left analog to move, right analog to turn. Easy? Not easy when you have a choppy frame rate. The game has some very strange mechanics. The strangest is the security cameras. One time, I went right across the camera. The alarm didn't sound. Weird. Later I tried it again. Now it sounded. Wacky! There is also a ton of tricky spots in the game. Tons of laser securities and cameras. Tons. On the first level, half of it is laser security. It's frustrating to manage. You have to wander around quite a bit just to figure out what to do. That being said, the game is a bit fun. Sneaking and killing is fun. That's it. Other portions of the game failed. This game dropped from 50 to 20 bucks (new) in 2 months. Does that tell you something?

This game seems on the surface like another covert-ops-stealth-infiltration game, a la Metal Gear or Splinter Cell. The key difference between Metal Gear or Splinter Cell and this titles is that Metal Gear and Splinter Cell didn't suck.The controls are very crappy. I often found myself running in circles trying to get into the perfect spot so the stupid little green icon would come up and let me DO SOMETHING. The plot is more cheesy than a fifty pound block of Wisconsin Cheddar. The 'voice acting' sounds like something taken from a soap opera... and a low-budget soap opera at that. Add to that some horrible programming bugs that really should have been caught during playtest (the only voice prompt given to me was 'great job, move on to the next area'... even as I was shot and dying...) and you're left with a sorry excuse for a knockoff. Bottom line... save your money and get something else.
