4 out of 5 stars This game is underated   April 15, 2008
This is really a much better game than people are giving it credit for. I found a Prison Tycoon strategy guide written by Soldyne online. It really showed me how complicated and fun this game really is. If you're thinking about buying the game do a search for the guide & see all the possibilities. If you've already bought the game and aren't enjoying it then you really need to look at his guide.

I've been playing this game for days and got tired of the music after about an hour so just turned it off in Options screen. Usually do that in games I play anyway.

1 out of 5 stars OMG..don't buy!!   August 15, 2007

This game was a total waste of money and hard drive space. First off, like everybody else said...this game had terrible graphics...you cant rotate the screen. I wouldn't buy the second one. I want to take it back and get my money back but you can't. This game actually looked pretty cool to play until you get to the screen. You only get 3 places to buy your prison. You can't control the prisoners..they do what they want to do. Its hard to break up fights...I wouldn't recommed this at all.. go buy a different game.

I used to work in the prison system here in Texas as a correctional officer and I had to quit because the stress of the job nearly killed me. Dr's. found evidence of a heart attack I never knew I had while I was working there and after playing this game I have to say that it was more fun working as a corrections officer than it is playing this game.

1 out of 5 stars Not sure I can add anything....   April 18, 2007

I have to admit that I don't know if I can add anything to what the other reviews have already stated. This game sucked, plain and simple. The graphics were not great. The game play was difficult to understand. Controls were confusing and didn't function as they were supposed to. Everything was so random. You could build the prison but it didn't really seem like you had much control over what the prisoners did. You just watched as they basically chose for themselves what they were going to do. Any attempt to control or influence their actions seemed pointless.

Slow, choppy and not nearly enough options.

1 out of 5 stars Save your money   March 8, 2007
Put it towards something better. humm lets see the list: First it crashed my computer. 4 times. Finally went to the older computer [2003] to load it. It crashed it. Ok I restarted and stripped out anything running. It finally installed. oh wow. Started the game. It crashed. Started it again. It crashed. Finally it started. Graphics? If you have played Sims2.. PT doesn't make 1. Extremely rough graphics. Takes forever to load. Controls are really bad. To change camera angles use the center mouse key or cntrl and left mouse key but mine only work if I use cntrl and center mouse key and then it jerks me all over the place. Really bad angles with very little control. Figuring out how to run it from the directions was pure hades. I lucked into a very good walkthru on the net. Delete is hidden in a control that gives you no sign it is delete. I still haven't figured out how I [or the game] did what it did. You are going to spend a lot of time wondering around in the dark. It would have been much much better if they had taken a page out of Sims2 instead of the bad interface, lousy controls and bad programming. And it does all this on two computers that loads and runs Sims 2 without a problem...

Avoid a headache... Buy something else.
