Best backlit keyboard, for the price July 7, 2008 Comfortable to use, very quiet to type on. Letter brightness is adjustable, but could stand to be brighter. I didn't want to take a chance on the lettering wearing off like some people talked about, so I followed the advice of another reviewer of putting clear coat nail polish over the keys and it worked like a charm. No signs of letter wear after over a month of heavy use. Very basic, very comfortable keyboard. For the price, it really can't be beat (as back-lit keyboards go). The downside? It didn't come in green, so I had to get a different board for myself to match my current pc motif, but my wife enjoys it along with her matching red Razer mouse.
Never had a single problem with this device.
A very good keyboard with one (kinda big) problem June 26, 2008 I have now had this keyboard for a year, and I am very impressed with one huge exception: much of the paint on the more oft-used keys has rubbed completely off. Now, considering I'm not new to the typing thing, this isn't a logistical issue so much as an aesthetic one. I can live without seeing A, S, D, E, R, T, C, and L, but I shouldn't have to. One year is not the life expectancy of a forty dollar keyboard, and it should look nicer than this.
A related issue I have is the viewable angle for the shift functions of the number keys. On the keys themselves, the exclamation point all the way down to the close parenthesis are very difficult to make out from my natural viewing angle. When the light is on (whether bright or dim), the top portions of the characters are dark while the bottom portions are lit (this is especially bothersome for keys 3-7, which all have kinda-pointy/kinda-round shift functions that are difficult to distinguish). I have to look from directly above them in order to see them clearly, or turn the backlight off, which kind of defeats the purpose of getting a backlit keyboard.
Other than those issues, the keyboard is pretty good. I like the action of the keys, it's far quieter than some other keyboards I've had, the key texture and shape are nice, the volume controls are helpful, and the backlit is pretty neat-looking. If it weren't for visual aspects, I would give this keyboard five stars, but "looks like butt after a year" demotes it to three.
Nice Keyboard. June 18, 2008 Keyboard is awesome. I can use it in pitch black and it's bright but not overpoweringly bright - it's at the perfect level, plus you can take it to half-strength or turn it off entirely if you wish. Doesnt feel cheap at all and doesnt click loudly either. Great product.
:-) June 9, 2008 It is what I had expected, nice, heavy, quiet, inexpensive and durable keyboard. The light is nice, even for someone who can type without looking at the keyboard. It's got a wow effect, and has coolness about its being. Don't by it anywhere other than Amazon. I am an IT guy, I shopped around in places I knew to look. At the time Amazon was and is the cheapest. Run from CCity, they claimed this keyboard was on sale. FOR ONLY $60 DOLLARRRRRS. Haven't tried the included wrist rest yet. I would by another, if I needed one. :-) I would like to see the blue lit.
Dude on his compood
Great keyboard. May 28, 2008 standard layout, backlit keys with two brightness settings, Volume down, up, or mute buttons, and a funky shape. I love it. Silent keys, easy press. Very nice. thanks
