3 out of 5 stars A Shooter, NOT A Stratedgy Game   June 18, 2008
So you don't make the mistake I did, this game is a SHOOTER, NOT a stratedgy game. As a shooter it is fairly entertaining and the graphics and battle engines are good.

What I was hoping for (and what some of the product info I read said) was that it was partly a strategy game. This it is not. I was hoping for something on par with Avalon Hill's "Midway" board game (only for the PC) where you can setup the war in the Pacific using the same historical units and strengths. Sort of a "Medievel Total War" for the Pacific theatre of WW2.

I'm now going to try "Pacific Storm" and see how that will fare.

4 out of 5 stars Submarine action worth the price.   May 9, 2008
I bought this game because it had submarine combat which is rare. The battleship and air combat is kind of lame, but the submarine combat is great. You have all aspects of submarine warfare, ie. sonar, periscope, air supply, forward and stern torpedoe tubes, etc

2 out of 5 stars OK, but WAY too short   April 29, 2008

Quick review. This game is OK. The gameplay is fun and you get to switch between any unit in the game, however there are a LOT of things goiong on at once and usually you end up staring at the overview map. The game is incredibly short -- I finished the campaign in about 4 hours. Then all that is left are the challenges. Worth it for $10 in a remainder rack. Not at full price.

4 out of 5 stars Sweet but short!   January 27, 2008

Battle stations Midway is an absolute BLAST to play its amazing how they fused together 1st person shooter and 3rd person. But because of the skill it took to do this they could only produce a small amount of levels 11 to be exact. But after that you can hit the challenges which are special challenges in a specific region of the game. For example, there are 4 ship challenges, 3 plane challenges, and 3 submarine challenges. Then when you've owned the PC enough move on to the MULTIPLAYER which is pretty cool with many levels to choose from except some of the online players are from the demo so there is only one level they can play.

4 out of 5 stars Please answer this for me....   August 23, 2007

Do you mind me asking at what age do you think a kid could get this and be able to play this?? Also, I've been trying to find and have not been able to find out if the graphics are gory (ie: blood, etc) or individual people getting hurt.

I have a six year old who LOVES u-boats and submarines and my husband has allowed him to play several games that unfortunately after I found out that it shows individual PEOPLE getting hurt, I had to do the Mom thing and take them away. What I'm torn about is that he is mentally IS capable to play advanced games, ie: his favorite is: Enigma Rising Tide (?)...he CAN play Command & Conquer but I have 'taken' that one away although his Dad lets him play when I'm not around.

I AM impressed with my son's ability to comprehend these games so I would like him to enjoy them but with also not exposing him to people getting blown up and such. Obviously, I KNOW and he knows that if you blow up a battleship, sub or an airplane that there are people theoretically in it but I don't want the graphics to show that for his age....

So...IS there a battleship, u-boat or say WWII game or something along those lines that have somewhat easy levels of strategy games that do not have graphics where it shows people getting hurt???

Thanks! And SORRY for posting this on a review area...I've read review after review without my questions being answered and don't know where else to look or ask...
