F.E.A.R Extraction Point January 1, 2008 I bought this game for my husband and he loves it. He won't stop playing!
Spooky! December 28, 2007 This game rocks! Any FEAR game is well worth the money. It scared the pee out of me and made my hairs stand on end during game play. Try it!
Stunning squad tactics just like the First FEAR November 26, 2007 I felt the game length was just about right, it took me about three weeks to finish it. This is identical to the first with the same pace, weapons, etc. Nothing wrong with that as the first FEAR was the best shooter I have played. The AI is incredible with realistic flanking squad tactics. Most shooters you can kick in a door and then exit and pick them off, here they will pursue you and throw grenades. If they have cover they will wait for you or try to flank you through another door. Quite amazing when you see the soldier knock the table over and use it for cover while his companions go through side exits to flank you. I can do without any story and almost feel like the horror aspect and cut-scenes take away from the game for me.
Short 'N' Sweet October 22, 2007 I'll be brief; this expansion-pack to the creepy best-selling 1st-person shooter game of 2006 doesn't last that long, but it will freak you out plenty in the few hours it takes to go through the levels. Moody music, detailed graphics and scary environments are all included, just like the first game. While there's really nothing new presented here, it does continue the story with the same thrills and chills that the original provided. My biggest complaint: I kept forgetting to use the slo-mo feature to mow down my enemies. Boo hoo. Otherwise, well, it totally creeped out my girlfriend, who hates scary games and movies...and what better recommendation would you want?
A quick knock-off of a very good original September 23, 2007 FEAR impressed me. Mixing a shooter with what amounts to a gothic horror story was a fresh idea. Extraction Point is a bit thin on story, more of just the typical shooter. Retail price is too much for what you get, paying bargin bin prices seems about right. Unless it changes, the next expansion installment will probably rate the same. Bottom line, loved the original, like the expansion pack, but it is too short and lacks the storyline that made the original compelling and worth the price.
