Product Description
F.E.A.R. Gold is the action shooter where you're more than just a soldier - you're a weapon. When a paramilitary force infiltrates a multi-billion dollar aerospace compound taking hostages, special forces are sent in and obliterated. Live footage of the massacre is cut short by an unexpected wave of destruction that leaves military leaders stunned and in disbelief. This is where you come in. After this heated battle, you'll face the next chapter in the story with the F.E.A.R.: Extraction Point expansion pack. The F.E.A.R. - Extraction Point expansion gives you a new mission, with an even more horrifying storyline. Different bone-chilling environments heighten the intensity, while addiyional weapons helps you fight terrifying, supernatural new enemies.

4 out of 5 stars FEAR Gold   November 5, 2007

The game graphics and physics are amazing. It's very real, so real in fact that that's the only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. The online game is all fun, and playing against the computer can get downright scary. I recommend this game to any fan of first person shooters...it's the best I have seen yet.

5 out of 5 stars Great game   October 3, 2007

It's easy to see why this game was chosen as the 2005 FPS game of the year. Fun to play with a short learning curve.

5 out of 5 stars One more time   September 22, 2007

I had the first FEAR before but the play disk turned into little bits in my ROM drive. I did not have the expansion yet so this was a good deal for me. Give this game a try if you have not and remember the game is just like its title 'FEAR'.

5 out of 5 stars FEARSOME   September 6, 2007

5 out of 5 stars Now this edition of FEAR I love.   May 18, 2007

This edition of FEAR strikes gold (pun intended). Not only does it include the Director's Edtition and Extraction Point but the latest patch (1.08) which itself is 600MB. That means when you install the game (which is one a single DVD-ROM) you're set.

The gameplay hasn't changed but if you don't have FEAR or have never played it then you'll want to get this. The system requirements are somewhat misleading though; you'll definitely want well above the minimum to see the game in all its glory. At lower resolution it's just not that pretty. I'm running it on a Pentium 4 3.2GHz Prescott CPU with a GeForce 7800 GS AGP video card and 2GB of system RAM. You'll definitely want 2GB of system memory in addition to a graphics card that's equipped with 256MB of memory also.

The supernatural theme gives the game a rather creepy atmosphere that's heightened by some of the tight locations and intense gunfights. Lest I forget all this goodness also requires roughly 8GB of hard drive space (yes I know it's a lot) but if you're into first-person shooter then FEAR: Gold Edition will be a welcome addtion to your game library.
