Disappointing July 26, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
A few years ago, a little game called Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction was released, and was a surprisingly great take on the Marvel character with free-roaming and destructive environments, plus the overall feeling gameplay-wise that you really were the Hulk. This new movie tie-in Incredible Hulk game from Sega seems to want to follow in the same footsteps, but alas, it is a disappointing, and quite frankly boring, next-gen smash-a-thon. Smashing up a pretty looking New York City is as fun as one would hope, and is by far the best aspect of the game to be sure. After that though, things begin to go downhill in terms of gameplay and overall presentation. Once you get bored with just causing destruction, the gameplay elements at their core just aren't that varied, and the boss fights are underwhelming as well. Graphically, the game looks halfway decent, but there are noticeable graphical glitches and occasional bugs that hamper the experience. Oddly enough as well, just like with the Iron Man game that was recently released, the game's cut-scenes are just plain bad. The good points of the game once again involve laying waste to the environment, and film star Edward Norton lends his voice as Bruce Banner as well. Considering how enjoyable Ultimate Destruction was and still is, it's disappointing how Incredible Hulk ends up faring. It's worth a look for Hulk fans, but in the end, you're better off sticking with an old copy of Ultimate Destruction.
Incredible Hulk Review July 23, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game is really fun. I had a wonderful time playing this game and I think everyone should play it. The story is fun to play and the achievements are fun to get. The achievements upgrades your skills, which comes useful in the story mode. I would buy this game agian, really fun.
ULTIMATE DESCTRUCTION.... NOT!!!!!! July 3, 2008 Ok, this game is not bad at all, but it just lacks that fun feeling that HULK: ULTIMATE DESTRUCTION had, but still if you ara a big comics fan like I am, and want an easy game to play every now and thn or just want to smash things up, I recomend this game, the graphics are great, the game play is ok, not as good as ULTIMATE DESTRUCTION, the story line, is a bit boring but I can live with that. So there you go, hope this hleps.
Typical movie based sub-par game June 20, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
The details of the Hulk character in the game are awesome, the rest kind of stinks. Theres a large fully interactive world for Hulk to destroy, however game is riddled with bugs, unusual slowdowns, and unnecessary load screens. Even voice overs from the actual actors couldn't help this game. Clearly its just another movie game to avoid.
Fun -stress relief June 13, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Worried about gas going over $4 a gallon, then have the hulk pound all the cars into scrap metal. The mortgage crisis have you down? Have the hulk smash every building in the whole city to rubble!
The hulk is a priceless way to ease your mind and release stress.Who doesn't like beating up helpless civilians then tossing them a mile into the sky or in a lake.
This in my opinion is the best hulk game ever. Even better than ultimate destruction.
The graphics look awesome. The models look very detailed and the textures look sharp and vibrant. The city really feels alive, from the cars and trucks driving around on their waypoints to the pedestrians walking along the city streets. To take the immersion up a notch, vehicles will actually hit reverse or turn sharply to avoid the big green dude.
Theres plenty to do in this city, from random encounters with squads of enclave that shoot at civilians and blow up buildings or the boss villians that appear randomly, to smashing cars, beating up civilians, destroying buildings or if your threat level gets too high even crushing tanks or fighting the Kyklops which is a robot taller than a building that will stomp the hulk with his foot. Then theres the twisted crazy taxi mini-game where the hulk carries taxi cabs to their destinations!
The game makes great use of the havok physics engine, EVERYTHING can be damaged or destroyed in ultra cool fashion and most debris can be used by the hulk as some kind of weapon. A good example is when Ironclad picks up a car and pummels it over the hulks head! Something I never grow tired of doing is throwing cars into the side of buildings and watching it become lodged there.
This game has a highly detailed, beautiful open-ended city to completely destroy.Plenty of extra's like different skins and mini games to unlock. Many villians like the enclave, u-foes, military, mechs, robots to fight just to name a few, the action never ends...
If you like destruction then this game's for you.
