Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Thief I: The Dark project is a first-person 3D action/adventure game that puts you in the role of a master thief relying on stealth and cunning. Utilizing the revolutionary new Dark Engine, the game will transport you into a dark and immersive tech-fantasy world of stealth, intrigue, deception and combat. Thief II: The Metal Age has you on the streets and rooftops of a darkened city, where the forces of a corrupt sheriff looms. It will take someone with a soft touch and even softer step to stay ahead of the law.

3 out of 5 stars Old but still kicking...barely   May 12, 2008

Thief 3 is the only game I've completed so far. I'm sure the previous two are good in light of their times. If you like stealth based games that are very streamlined and very simple in their gameplay, this is for you.

The ambiance throughout the game is fantastic, shalebridge cradle is particularly intense.

The gameplay is fairly boring. It works in a rock-paper-scissors type of way with the equipment, and there's not much room for innovation.

Don't be fooled by the open city bit, it's very much closed. While there are two paths to any one destination, there are only two paths.

Overall I give this game three stars, one for ambiance, one for comedy, and one for some pretty hilarious voice acting.

It loses a half for being repetitive, a half for being super streamlined, and one for being an obvious console port.

(Edit:The voice acting is very variable in its quality, but there is a lot of intentional and unintentional humor that works well in the game.)

this is a great product for the Thief fans, although it doesn't brings anything new, it reunites the Thief trilogy in one case.
