Limited Edition PSP with Madden 09 September 6, 2008 I have been playing Madden for a long time. When I got Madden 08 and played it for the entire football season I decided that I was not going to purchase 09 because I did not feel much would change. But when I saw the PSP Limited Edition with Madden 09 in metallic blue it was a must have for me because my that is my favorite color. I already owned an original PSP and have been very happy with it but I felt I could not pass up this deal that only cost me $199. I paid no shipping, no taxes, etc. Madden 09 has taken getting used to because there are actual noticeable changes between 08 and 09. I am still getting used to the PSP Slim which is lighter and seems a little more delicate than the sturdy black ones. But I take very good care of my assets so that will not be a problem. So in summary, I actually brought this limited edition for the color of the PSP and felt like I got a bonus with Madden 09 being included.
Even more fun if you own a Playstation3 September 2, 2008 There is nothing particularly different about this particular PSP package other than it comes with a lot of extras and appears to be a great value if you like to play Madden football. The hardware is a standard PSP-2001 series, but in a blue color rather than the usual black. I own a Playstation3 and was fairly amazed at how well the PSP integrates with the Playstation3. The PSP does not need a Playstation3, but if you have both, you can see the Playstation 3 screen on the PSP. The sound streams as well as the images, and the PSP can control the Playstation 3 across the Internet. The PSP also connects directly to the Internet wirelessly. Therefore you can play online, get updates, and use the built-in browser. There is a special Internet radio application and Skype also built-in to the PSP. The sound is great through headphones, and audible through the built-in speakers. The screen is great and controls are intuitive.
PSP Madden bundle not complete August 22, 2008 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
The psp bundle of Madden brings some changes some are welcome and others I guess should have been said up front to avoid confusion. First welcome change is of course the lighter feeling compared to the first psp which makes it easier to carry. The most needed change in my eyes is the extra built in memory, to many times i've had problems with websites not able to display for lack of memory with graphics on webpages like amazon or hardocp.
The changes made to the headset port is a mixed bag, its now able to connect to a standard tv or hdtv with optional cables which are not included but unfortunely, if you own one of the first psp's your headset will no longer work with this version as the port is physically unable to fit and a headset that works with this bundle is not included.
One other small problem is that there was no soft case included so if you value your investment in this system you have several choices, if your lucky you can still use the softcase that came with old psp but some may have bought the value psp that did not come bundled with one but fortunely many 3rd party supporters like logitech have new case covers that will protect your investment for small fee. Lucky I have the softcase but do plan on purchasing a after market case. Overall I feel that the new changes are for the best but some are needed to address so purchasers are aware that what comes in this bundle is not really a complete bundle.
Good deal.. nice game... interesting portable device August 15, 2008 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I got the Limited edition madden PSP as an intro to the system. Never played PSP but always was curious. Am going on a long trip this weekend so figured it would be a great time to get one. The game plays well, better then excepted and the PSP is cool. The blue is a fine color... The add ons didn;t blow me away... I would recomend this system to anyone who wants a PSP game system.
nice color, nice football game, i love sony August 12, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
if you dont want to read a page long reveiw, my answer is: yes, great deal, great product.
now to the long stuff: my 4 year old 1st version psp was getting lots of wear and tear. so i look up the 2nd version, slim and lite, on amazon. And i find this. at first, i thought there was a big logo on the back for madden, and not being a big football fan, i thought against purchasing it. but i look at the pictures, and where i expected to find a big helmet or something on the back, there was nohting, just shiny blue.
now on to madden: as you have read, im not a football fan. i am definatly not the "get the new version every year" kind of guy. but i try it, and it seems like they expected people to be new at it. They put a "rookie mode" to all the game modes, and its easy, fast, and fun gameplay.
beats: People dont really know what this is before they play it, so let me explain. Beats is like dance dance revolution max, press the button in sync with the music to score mega points. But beats adds something, you get to use your own music in your psp, whether its from a pc, or a cd. And in case you don't have any, they have pre-loaded tracks that will do until you get some. the game mode where you can make your own rythems is kinda comfusing, and i havent figured it out yet.
the movie: its basically a short doc. on fameous football players, so, that is really up for you to decide.
for the whole package: pros-shiny blue, lightweight, durable, Madden 09 is user friendly, beats is good to pass the time,
cons:beats takes a long time to download from the ps store, beats can get a little tiring to your eyes and brain, and the movie ain't all that great.
