 Gameshark for Gameboy Color February 18, 2008
Well... it's a bit low tech, but once you get the hang of using it, it becomes fairly simple. The cheats in it aren't so great, but you can do an internet search and find people who've made their own codes for this item/ GameBoy Color Games and input those yourself, which makes it slightly better.

I bought this just recently and I just wanted to share that gameshark pro is awesome. It works on most of my favorite games like.. dragon warrior monsters & dragon warrior 3. I'd suggest anyone who still plays old games from gameboy color to buy this, it's great.
Oldie but goodie April 4, 2007
While not all that much fun on its own, the gameshark really enhances the game experience for those who always wanted to finish those hard-to-beat games. Though it is rare to find gameboy color users these days, the system is still great, and made all the greater by employing this fine device!!

First of all, GameShark is for an adult to handle, you must follow directions from the manual up to the last letter. Otherwise you will loose all your saved data, in my case Pokemon are very precious, so I took some messures to ensure that they won't get deleted (I stored them in Nintendo 64).
Still I never had my game deleted (and I won't) if you don't follow the instructions, don't expect for it to work properly, you wouln't start a car turning the key the other way or filling it with water intead of gas, right? same goes for GameShark.
Tips:
1- Allways have the switch in off (away from the GS button) when turning on the game boy, turning it off or saving your game.
2- Only turn the switch on when you want to enable the cheat when your done, turn it off
3- Never ever ever turn the Game boy off with the switch on
4- Don't press the GS button when the game is getting saved or the switch is on (this is like turning the game boy off when you're saving)
It may take some time to learn these rules, but they're simple. The other thing you gotta look out for is for codes that will erase your game, before using a code look it up on the web and check if someone says that the code is bad for your game or if it's good. Some codes are sayd to do extraordinary things... be careful.
GameShark will let you know when a game is not compatible (like pokemon blue) or when it is compatible (like pokemon gold), you know that if you use it with a game that's not compatible, you may have a bad experience.
After you get all of this right, you'll enjoy GameShark as much as I do.
All of this is in the manual! Read the manual! and if you don't understand it... red it again and again and again... and then if you still don't understand it... well, maybe video games is not your thing.

THIS GAMESHARK IS THE COOLEST THING EVER!!! YOU CAN FLOAT ON AIR AND YOU CAN HAVE INFINATE ITEMS!!!! IT WORKS VERY WELL AND THE PRICE IS TOTALLY GREAT! YOU CAN EVEN CHANGE THE MUSIC! A NOTE TO PEOPLE WHO ARE WANTING TO BEAT THE POKEMON GAME, THIS IS NOT REALLY FOR YOU. THIS IS FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO MESS AROUND WITH THEIR GAME. IF YOU WANT TO BEAT THE GAME, TRY THE MISSINGNO CHEAT FOR BLUE AND RED. THAT ALWAYS DOES THE TRICK!!! THE MISSINGNO TRICK IS:
1.GO TO THE GUY IN VIRIDIAN CITY AND TELL HIM NO. HE WILL THEN SHOW YOU HOW TO CATCH A POKEMON.
2.FLY TO CINABAR ISLAND
3.PUT A MASTER BALL, NUGGET, RARE CANDY, OR WHATEVER YOU WANT TO GET MULTIPLES OF IN THE 6th ITEM SPOT.
4.SURF ALONG THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ISLAND WHERE THERE IS HALF LAND AND HALF WATER. YOU SHOULD COME ACROSS SOME PIGEYS AND THEN MISSINGNO OR M. (THEY ARE THE SAME)
5. DO NOT CATCH HIM. RUN AWAY OR DEFEAT HIM.
6. LOOK AT YOUR 6th ITEM. IT WILL HAVE A SYMBOL IN PLACE OF A QUANITY. THAT MEANS YOU HAVE LIKE 150 OF THAT ITEM.
7. YOU CAN USE THIS CHEAT AS MANY TIMES AS YOU LIKE!
THERE YOU HAVE IT. THE GAMESHARK IS A GOOD INVESTMENT AND A FUN THING TO TOY AROUND WITH.
