I have done a full install and tested the game on XP and it worked perfect. You do need a 3d video card for this game. The disc is in very good to excellent condition with a few very light marks that mean nothing and I have loaded and tested the game and it works perfect on XP. Star Trek: Armada II is the sequel to the Star Trek real-time strategy title Star Trek: Armada. An innovative RTS, Star Trek: Armada II adds a new level of strategy and realism to the original by allowing players to command from a 3-D tactical view. Set in The Next Generation universe, the game's story unfolds through three single-player campaigns from the Federation, Klingon, and Borg perspective. Additionally, the Cardassians, Romulans, and Species 8472 will join the fray throughout. The sequel also features more armada than before. Sweeping 3-D gameplay immerses gamers in a universe of space, supremacy, and survival with more ships, longer campaigns, and all-out battles. You can arrange fleets in many different 3-D formations with up to 16 ships, which dramatically affect strategic and tactical decisions. The outcome of every encounter depends on the player's ability to manage resources, crew, and fleets of ships across the galaxy. Players command the fleets of three different races through three separate single-player campaigns for a total of 30 missions. Additionally, gamers can take control of six separate races in multiplayer mode. Each has divergent combat styles and tactical approaches. Other noncombatant aliens such as the Ferengi make for willing trade partners. Gamers become fully immersed in the explosive battles with the addition of the tactical view mode, a ship-to-ship combat viewer that allows you to control fleets from on top of the action.

This is a very fun game, however I think they should have stopped with the first, or done something with the Dominion instead of something new with the Borg.
As to the price listed, don't buy it. That's major rip off. I got mine for 10 bucks at Wal-Mart or Target.

I WAS NOT AT all impressed with this game.
i like the first one,but this one bored me to death.
 Great Game, Not Worth The Price May 29, 2008
Great gameplay and all, loads of fun. But whoever selling this needs some therapy. . . a lot of therapy. I got this game for $20.00 at Circuit City. Check other sites and guarantee youll find it a heck of a lot cheaper.

I have to say that this is one of the best star trek games i've ever played next to bridge commander. Not a fan of piracy, i must say i support it next to paying the current price of this game. I must think one person has bought this game years ago, kept it wrapped, and now is trying to rape the market, it's called price-gouging! it's what the gas companies are doing to us now. just find a torrent of this game, and download it. it's not worth the 150 dollar price tag.

It's a fun game, but it's triple the original selling price. It's possible that there are a lot of new sellers selling this, but the game IS NOT WORTH $150. I would wait until the prices go down again to buy it. The same seems to be over at ebay, but again, paying $150 or even over the original selling price of $50 is not worth it.
