| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Based on the best-selling novel and sci-fi smash hit movie, Starship Troopers brings a cataclysmic invasion of giant insects to life on your PC!
Amazon.com Review Usually PC owners fight to keep the bugs out of their PCs, but when Starship Troopers is released, a legion of real-time strategy fans will likely want to put them back in. Incorporating the best parts of the movie and the book of the same name, the game should please fans of both. The developers at Blue Tongue could have made a simple action game with the same cartoon violence found in the movie, but they obviously got much of their design inspiration from Robert Heinlein's original book. That science fiction classic--involving a galactic struggle between a fascist human society and a cold, communist race of space-faring bugs--advanced the concept of powered battle armor. Essentially every soldier was the equivalent of an extremely agile tank, and Starship Troopers is staying true to this theme. Your Mobile Infantry soldiers in the game wear different types of armor, suited for various tasks, such as heavy assault or quick reconnaissance. Leadership is modeled in the form of squad leaders, and all the troops in your squads have many attributes that affect their performance. There won't be any generic grunts in this game. Several vehicles have also found their way into the game, so you won't have to rely completely on the infantry. The game's graphics look like they were taken straight out of the movie, and the special effects should prove just as vivid and visceral. Starship Troopers will include other elements the movie was famous for, such as pyrotechnic air strikes and a sniper mode. Top all that off with psychic powers, several distinct environments, and a sharp-looking 3-D engine and you end up with a game we can't wait to get our hands on.

Highly recommanded to Fans of Starship Troopers Series September 20, 2008 From "X-Com, Enemies Unknown" to "Starship Troopers", I'm keeping an eye on Microprose's games.
Excellence of this game:
All 3D models and landscapes;
Extended human armoury & tech-edge, e.g. hi-tech reinforced armour suits, plasma weapons;
Extended Arachnids species (compare to the first movie);
360-degree-rotating camera;
Various battlefield positions across galaxy;
etc...and I'm impressed the game can be performed on Win XP properly, for its aged release date(A.D. 2000).
Drawback:
Poorly detailed 3D model;
No in-action-safe;
No detailed in-action-reminder for primary objective and optional objective;
No database of all elements present in game(weapons, starships, planets, bases & outposts, history & events, enemies);
You have vehicle-escort mission, but no vehicles(especially tanks or choppers)for your squad, so your men go anywhere on feet(except they have jump-jet-pack mounted armour suits), which prolong missions badly;
No real-action movies or CG films throughout the entire gameplay(except a short and single opening), even no ending movie when finished the game;
Soldiers cannot exchange armaments & equipments with each other during actions, so you unable to optimize the force when resource is limited;
Some elements in the game are generally excrescent, e.g. those psycho-specialists;
etc...
Conclusion:
If you're addicted to Starship Troopers Series, I strongly recommand it to you, purchase(or acquire this game via other methods)immediately! If you're NOT familiar to the series, go to the novels, movies & animations first, then get the game!
BEST STARSHIP TROOPERS GAME EVA!!! July 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I first played this game when i was 9 or 10 and I LOVED IT!!!!
If you are Smart and like the StarShip Troopers Movies Buy BOTH the First Person Shooter and Real Time Stratigy Games
It Rocks I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS
Locked UP! January 7, 2008 I've owned this game since 2001. But with my latest computer, I can't get it to load and play. No support. No information sites available. There is a line in the start up that you must delete to get it to play. Unfotunately, I forgot what, so now I can't get it to run on my current comp. If anyone out there knows, I'd appreciate the help. The game is good, but no deviation. But as I get better, I run the ops with fewer men and make it harder.
Ohh Yeah AWESOME May 20, 2004 0 out of 4 found this review helpful

This is the best squad-based game EVER!!!!!!! It is in your face, bug-killing FUN!! Use tactical manuvers to carry out missions. But always, ALWAYS be cautious because you never know when an acid-spitter (Tanker Bug) might find you! From shooting bugs to nuking bugholes this game will keep you on the the edge of your seat wanting MORE!!!!! What do you do when you see bugs? Here's an idea, KILL THEM!!! KILL THEM ALL!!!!
