1 out of 5 stars Terrible   July 20, 2007

This is a terrible game. I didn't get very far in it because i found it truly frustrating and annoying. The graphics are good, yes, but the main character isn't worth it. He is so stupid and annoying! I realize that he's only a computer character, and you have to control him, but in the beginning of the game, he needs to find a phone number. So I found the first half of the number on one piece of paper, and the second half on another piece. When i told him to dial the phone number he said somehting like, "Why would I call that number?" and he just would not call. It gets very aggravating!
Also, it is a point-and-click game, so you can pretty much click on everything around the character, even if it has no significance to the story...And of course he has to comment on it and tell you the item's backstory! Also very annoying.
I didn't even get past the first part of the game, so maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but I felt so flustered by this game that I just gave up...and I am not a person who gives up very easily.
I do not think that this game is worth the money at all.

5 out of 5 stars Hours of fun!!   June 28, 2007

So I've read all the previous reviews and can agree with people that the dialogue has some issues from time to time. I'm guessing like everyone else that's because it was translated from another language, but honestly it is not so bad you can't understand it, plus it's pretty funny from time to time, but not all that bad at all. I love games like this where you have to do one thing in order to do another and find clues, run back and forth, search crime scenes, question people, etc. etc. So this game was definitely right up my alley and I LOVED it!!!! It's a perfect combination between challenging, but not too hard so that you get frustrated. I am obssessed with the Nancy Drew series so someone gave me this one for Christmas while I waited for another new ND and it was certainly a great gift.

My ONLY real complaint about it is I like games that have a logical conclusion. I'm fine with the supernatural stuff and ghost stories and creepy atmospheres and rumors of hauntings and things of that nature throughout the game, but ultimately it ends up being someone behind all of it and there's a logical plausible conclusion...not in this game however. I won't spoil the ending by any means, but it's something so far-fetched and obviously unrealistic that it made it hard for me to get excited about having solved it. I was expecting something different in the end, but otherwise the game itself was GREAT and I would highly recommend it so long as you don't mind a very crazy and unrealistic ending.

Also a side note....for everyone who said they wish you were only able to click on the items and clues you needed then what fun would that be?? You'd just move your mouse around and the two things that lit up were exactly what you were looking for and you'd be done. The game would be over within the hour at that rate. I like having to work a little bit to find what you want. Plus they don't just throw you out there with nothing, even though you can click on a bunch of useless items it's still fun to snoop through people's things and they DO steer you toward your goal and what you're hunting for so you aren't completely lost. I will say though that if you've never played a game like this the controls and movements and inventory list, etc. does take a little getting used to, but you'll have it figured out in ten minutes tops. Best of luck to everyone and I think this game is fantastic!

1 out of 5 stars WOW... I will never get this time back   June 20, 2007

Wow... I'll never get these several hours back!!! The game was horrible. The whole reason for having clues in a video game is so they lead you to the next clue and then to the next, finally ending at a conclusion. Yeah, apparently not in this game, there was absolutely no structure. I got so frustrated with this game, I spent most of time reading on what to do next. I just wanted it to end. So not worth the $20 I spent.

1 out of 5 stars An odd game with poor customer support   June 3, 2007

Like many reviews before mine, I was quite disappointed with this game. The graphics were pretty cool but the diaglouge was a joke. The puzzles and story line were OK- very solvable, until the end. As I was entering the final stage of the game, a very important "hot spot" was missing from my CD. I tried customer support and they told me that they don't give solutions and tried to sell me a solution guide. After a couple of days of frustration, I threw this game away, and forgot about it until now.
Overall, don't waste your time or money.

3 out of 5 stars Not the best gift   May 3, 2007

I bought this for someone as a christmas gift and it took a week for him to figure out how to get dressed. The game is difficult to navigate and figure out how to start basic tasks.
