5 out of 5 stars Great Product! Couldn't go Wrong.   July 13, 2008
I've been using this card for a little over a month and haven't had any problems with it. The picture Quality is awsome! A must have for any Media Center Pc's.

1 out of 5 stars Does NOT work with Vista 64   July 2, 2008
I've had this card for three years. I purchased it bundled with Beyond TV 4. It was mediocre to average. Picture quality was fairly low, but I never recorded from it or anything so that didn't bother me too much. However the drivers for it are awful. Whenever I hd to update my drivers it was a huge hassle because I could not remember what model card I had (the 150 and 250 look very similar). The model number is not stamped on the actual card, and Windows and the drivers do not identify it. It is simply listed as a Hauppauge TV device.

The WinTV application software that comes with it is a joke and is absolutely awful. It looks like something that was created 10 years ago (since it's called "WinTV 2000" that might be accurate).

My main problem with this card though, and the reason it gets rated so low from me, is that it doesn't work with Vista 64 bit operating systems with 4GB of ram. It just won't work at all. They won't update the drivers so it will work (like they did with a few of their cards), so the only way to get it to work is to make Vista downgrade my ram to 3.5, or to get a new operating system. The $130 card I bought is essentially worthless now. And since it's an analog TV Tuner and everything will be digital in 7 months, there's really no reason anyone should buy this card unless it is selling on clearance for $10 or so.

3 out of 5 stars Hardware works but no software included.   June 21, 2008
I purchased this video capture card so I could put some of my old home movies on DVDs. The installation was easy enough, and the hardware seems to work fine. But (and this is a big "but"), there's no software included other than the device drivers. Windows Movie Maker doesn't capture the source sound, and various freeware programs like VirtualDub don't work with DirectShow, which is what this card uses. Other freeware programs like Debut, do not capture analog video. I purchased Sony Vegas and it only captures digital video via a firewire connection. It looks like I'm going to have to spring for either Pinnacle Studio or Corel's Ulead to get any kind of use out of this thing.

All in all, it's not a completely bad piece of hardware. However, make sure you get somekind of video capture software with it. Otherwise you're going to end up paying more in the long run.
