5 out of 5 stars Game was a good purchase   November 23, 2008
I bought this game for my 3 1/2 Y/O Spiderman fanatic son. I didn't realize it was rated teen until Mary Jane said "damn" and I looked at the case. However, my son manages to learn how to do more and more with Spidey and get farther each time he is allowed to play which is one hour per day. He loves it and it is teaching him to keep trying whenever he gets frustrated while learning something new. He likes pretending to be Spidey so much that he won't give up until he succeeds in the task he's working on and I like that. I would say it is a smooth game to control so I recommend it for kids younger than teens if you can explain the situations in the game to them in an intelligent, creative way.

1 out of 5 stars A giant missed opportunity   November 23, 2008

I, like most gamers, consider spider man 2 one of the best games in the series, and one of the most fun games that existed in the xbox-ps2 generation. Since then, i've been itching for an update that gave me all that was good and more and have been let down 3 times, the most recent with web of shadows.

Almost immediately, and I mean *immediately*, the game feels like it loses focus and thrusts me into a series of repetitive tasks that make me question whether or not the developers have played any games since 2001.

This might be a good purchase for children and at 30 dollars or lower, but anyone else should steer far, far clear.

5 out of 5 stars Great Spidey Game   November 17, 2008
I have played pretty much every Spider-man game out there (all the way back to Sega Genesis days) and this one takes them all. The game starts a bit slow but as you develop your fighting, primarily the web-strike attacks, the enjoyment level jumps dramatically. This game truly does a great job of playing like you always thought Spider-man should; agile, strong, fast, etc.

The game has rare moments of glitching, but the overall enjoyment of the game completely overshadows that for me. If you're a Spider-man fan in any way, get this game.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic game   November 13, 2008
This game is very good. It has a really cool combat system and it's very unique. It is unexplainably better than Spider-Man 3 which was an average game. This game is highly reccomended if you like action games.

5 out of 5 stars The Best Spidey Game So Far   November 8, 2008
Even though it has a poor beginning, Web of Shadows is probably the best Spider-Man game that has been released and is a refreshing thing after the Spidey 3 game. At the start, the game doesn't seem that exciting and you don't know that it will flashback in the story. So it seems a little confusing at first, but then the game becomes amazing.

I am glad that I didn't quit playing after the first few minutes because it gets a lot better. The action is intense and the story is really good, especially if you like Venom because there are Symbiotes everywhere. Overall, this game rocks. Nuff said
