Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
You never thought it would turn out like this?an all-out chase where you're both the hunted and the hunter. Now you must get behind the wheel and risk everything to infiltrate a ruthless international crime syndicate and take them down. The man you're after is a maniac behind the wheel, and he's driving like his life depends on escape, which maybe it does. He's the one with all the answers you need, so track him down. That fleet of police cruisers in your rearview mirror won't make things any easier. It will take all of your experience?and every ounce of skill?to outrun the law, take down the enemy, and unlock the truth that puts an end to this chase once and for all.

3 out of 5 stars Much better than the last installment.   December 1, 2008
I'd have to say I'm relieved to find they've gone back to what I like. Prostreet was boring and uneventful; and I didn't care for Carbon, it was too easy. The graphics are nice, but I will admit the hang ups during races are mildly distracting as others have mentioned. I do think it's ridiculous that you can buy cars online. This just defeats the purpose having to work on your skills.

The major con I've found so far is during the pursuits by the police if I hit something just right my hood flies up and I can't see a freaking thing. I have to drive like this until the race is over, whether I total out, get caught or manage to escape the police. Major drag there.

The acting in the story is less than stellar, and I'm not some cheesy fanboy who cares about some game "hottie" who looks like she's fifteen telling me she hopes I'm good at things other than driving, nice innuendo. Ick.

All in all, I'd say rent it. EA didn't earn your money this go 'round.

1 out of 5 stars Bad Man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   November 28, 2008

It is sad that EA sports being a big big company just makes the games so mediocre. It is a company that has all the $$$$$$$$$$$$ that you can imagine and they win all the licitations for the biggest developments. You can see that missing of quality in all the latest games such as NFL MADDEN which even though the customer critics all for the last two years they do not care and they continue developing games that actually do not show the console potential.

SAD SAD, they invested a lot of quality getting the theatrical trailer but rememeber "a good cover does not mean a good book" The game is not even a little bit good compared to GRID event though codemaster (developer company) is not that big as ES is. The framing is really bad, and the sensitivity of the game is annoying.

BUY GRID you wont regret.

4 out of 5 stars Back on Track   November 27, 2008

I just got this game and after playing for a couple of hours I can say that Need for Speed Series is back on track. I was around for the original Need for Speed and Hot Persuit series, those were so much fun, if they could oly bring those back.

ProStreet and Carbon were complete disasters, extreamly disapointing, I had to stop playing after my first time.... this one is at least 4 times better than the lader.

The graphics are crisp, but many daytime sceens look washed on my HDTV, I thought something was wrog with my TV. lol. But that's how the game is. But that aside, gameplay is designed for super highspeed, the stearing ratio is tight, meaning that if you just tap the controler, you'll hit a wall, but at high speeds, you need that tight streaing ratio. The cops aren;t that dumb like some say, they don't stop chasing you.... I got caught.

Some say the frame rate gets choppy, I have't seen that yet.

Overall gamplay and the fun factor are high.. the game is fast paced, not like the last 2 games that were out. I would say if you a NFS fan, this is the one to get.

EDIT: This game is better than I describe, I haven't been able to stop playing.. The cops caught me many times, and it's true that with the first car it's easy to beat the challenges, but the challenges get harder, where you need to upgrade your car and buy power add on's as well to win.... Frame rate is fine, absolutly no freezing..Great Game, I think the folks bashing this game, don't actually own it!

1 out of 5 stars Waiting For Underground 2   November 26, 2008

Wow! This game is sad. It didn't take a trip back to PS1, but back to the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System). Madden on the PS1 was better than this. The frames were ultra-slow, the overall control of the car was sensitive, and the gameplay was horrific! It seems that the Burnout Franchise has finally trumped the Need for Speed panorama.

It's best to just "feed the pig" (save your money) rather than purchase this game.

this is my fav game besides undercover, and carbon. The graphics a hot especially on my HDMI cable, the gameplay is great non of that enthusia real life physics, races are simple unlike Midnight Club LA which was frustrating, the only thing i hate is the loading time this game is worth playing buy or rental!!!!
