Not enough room September 11, 2008 I really wish that I had done my research before buying this bag. On a first glance, one thinks that it looks large enough. It is an attractive color, is made of quality material, and it does not have a gigantic Wii logo to attract potential thieves with. The Wii won't slide around as long as the bag is zipped up, and you can carry up to 6 game discs inside and 4 Wiimotes.
However, when you start to pack your Wii up, you realize there really isn't enough room in the thing for the AC adapter, the motion sensor bar, or, heck, any of the other little wires you need to hook up to a TV. It's like the bag designers thought that Wiis had magic wireless powers and naturally communicate with TVs through telepathy.
Just as bad, your Gamecube controllers won't fit into the pocket at all. And if you have a mix of controllers -- say, if you have 4 Wiimotes and want to bring 4 Nunchuks -- good luck bringing 'em. There just isn't enough room.
Another con is the fact that the little pouch that is supposed to hold the Wii just isn't tight enough. Sure, as long as it's zipped up it doesn't shift around. However, when you unzip it, the tension that keeps the Wii nice and snug is gone, and the Wii easily slides out. I would really have preferred it if there was, say, a little elastic strap at the top portion of the case, too. That way, if I happen to open my bag and tilt it a little, I won't have to worry about my precious Wii skiing out onto my knees and taking a nosedive for the floor.
I saw other Wii bags that were twice this price and size, and I wish I had bought one of them instead. I suppose this does the minimum, and at least it keeps your precious Wii from getting scratched, but it's just too small to be of serious use.
Not bad for the price November 26, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I recently purchased this case from a different vendor but that's only because for this kind of purchase, I really wanted to see and feel what I would be trusting the protection of my Wii to. I wanted something small, so I know packing might get a bit tight. The dimensions are 9"x9"x4" and I managed to fit all necessary components fairly discreetly and this case came with a hand strap and an optional shoulder strap.
I believe I would've easily purchased the Wii Messenger bag if it were not for the large Wii logo on the front flap. I live in a large city and drawing attention to the possible contents of my bag is the last thing I would like to do. This case has a much smaller tag (about 2") indicating it's for carrying a Wii.
I think my only real problem would be the color. The current color on display is the same as mine, and I would've preferred a darker blue or gray but instead it's teal.
I've used this bag twice so far and I'm rather satisfied with my purchase.
It's cheaper for a reason November 22, 2007 I purchased this carrying case because it's relatively cheap. But there just isn't enough room. The consol fits nicely, there is space for 6 games, and the front pocket holds the remotes and nunchuks nicely. But tehre is simply no space for the wires and the sensor bar. They can fit, but only with a decent amount of creativity and the sacrifice of some controllers. They simply didn't put enough thought into it. Buy another bag it's worth the extra money.
