3 out of 5 stars Disappointed.   July 21, 2008
Iron Man starts off alittle dull but forgivable when you take the Mark I suit smashing through a war-torn desert village making Smore's out of terrorists with your flame thrower. You soon learn the joys of shooting wrist missles at tanks, thugs, and helicopters. The fun's getting started now right? The possibilities are promising.

Now we get to the second act with the mediocre looking Mark II suit and start to learn the joys of flight. Oh, if it was a joy. Hover, check! Accelerated flight, check! Clumsily navigating through the air like a drunken man shot from a catapult,...um, check! Good because Stark Industries is under attack by a unplausible army of tanks and goons.
We have a serious problem when game mechanics make me instictively have Iron Man fight on the ground.

So I smash through this invasion only to face off against the second level's apparent boss, a super helicopter that seems immune to everything (that is everything, after I quickly beat its life meter to 1/4). I mean, seriously, I threw everything at this stupid super helicopter: it's own missiles, my missiles, my one-handed laser, my super laser blast with suit power diverted to weapons, hell I even tried punching, nothing worked! Long story short, after 10 straight minutes of it not killing me and me not harming it, I gave up hope of enjoying this game.

I died alittle inside and hit eject. No map, no clear objects, no easily crushing an enemy that a wandering duck could accidently take out, equals no fun for this reviewer. After the first boss was so lame and the second almost had me throw my controller, I just quit caring. Hopefully Iron Man the movie II will have a much better game or no game at all. It's shame the game plays so lousy because the red suit in flight looks really great in the ads and pics.

4 out of 5 stars Underappreciated   July 5, 2008

I found this game to be fun, even though it was a video game that coincided with a movie. I know it has gotten bad reviews from other sites and gaming magazines, but I have to disagree with them. The game does take some time getting used to the controls are a little advanced, but can be quickly mastered. The only thing I fell is missing from this game is a target lock. It is often difficult at first to target an object, but again you get used to this after the first 2-3 levels. The unlockable suits were fun to explore and the voice acting was great. The game itself is short (it is a movie game though) and will probably last you around 8 hours or more depending on difficulty and if you unlock the other suits.

4 out of 5 stars Great Game!! You are going to be challenge later   June 5, 2008

I enjoy purchasing this game. I thought it was going to be another lame title to make money. But it was well worth it value. There are playable mission & you will be challenge on some mission. But if you like me, and re-think what you did wrong, they can be overcome. If you like shooting up & Thumb fighting game, this is for you. But beware that you might not finish it on the first time.. This will take time.

2 out of 5 stars Save your money   May 31, 2008
Although its nice to play as Ironman, this game is not worth $[...]. More like $[...]. The cut scenes are horrible. Some of the graphics are nice, the ironman suit is nice as well. After a day or two of playing this game, i regretted not getting GTA4 instead. I hope the new Hulk game isn't this bad:(

3 out of 5 stars Strictly a rental   May 21, 2008
This game follows the story of the movie, which like in most cases makes for a bad game. The graphics are good, and suit controls are easy to learn.
This game has several flaws in it,first of all you dont get the full suit functions or the option of first person mode. The only way you can grab an object is to fly into it or catch it in mid air. The extra suits dont make that much of a difference and are a pain to get.
The one up side to this game is the free flight mode.
Over all This is a rental.
