4 out of 5 stars Worth the buy   October 12, 2008
I played my first game of chess at the age of 14 while at a summer camp. Never really tried to sharpen my game. Now I am much more mature and must say this game and the idea of adventures along the way make it a very fun experience.

The technology used in the game is a bit dated and a bit stale. What I mean is that the game is conveyed on a CD not DVD and the graphics (while very good in its day) are now in late 2008 a bit dated and as I said a bit stale. This is in comparison to current on line gaming pizzazz graphics and emersion that I have enjoyed in other venues.

The idea of the adventure is great. If current technology and features were used, it could be show stopper great as a chess tutoring tool.

If they every decide to execute modern tech to do this, I would buy this game AGAIN at that time.

Love the game and the idea behind the gradual learning experience ... great concept but now is the time for a tech upgrade otherwise it would earn 5 stars.

5 out of 5 stars Best Chess Game I've Played   October 3, 2008
Before owning this game I had a nominal interest in chess. After buying it I now want to play chess all the time. I know all the chess terminology, I can read chess notation and I win most people at chess who are average chess players, like my family and friends for example.

I couldn't put this game down for almost a week after I bought it. I'm 29, male, white and I like role playing games. This game definitely appealed to me and is one of the most fun games I've played in recent memory.

4 out of 5 stars I forget how I Won, lol   April 1, 2008
I found the "Adventure" feature of this game simply irresistable and I took a total of about 12 hours to defeat all of the levels. It honestly was an enjoyable adventure. I saved my files and can insert them into the program files for this program, if it is installed on any computer, to allow going to any level, but I am frustrated that I cannot figure out how I managed to beat the Chapter 7 Dragons Land "Memorial to the Eagles" quiz where you have to re construct the position as it would have been 2 moves earlier. But I do remember that it took me a lot of time to crack the riddle. If anyone can tell me just that one answer I will return the favor by emailing them the programs files that I have which work like a cheat key to go to any level. There are no cheat codes available that I know of.

Thanks, Gary

5 out of 5 stars Fun Training for Beginners at a low price.   October 26, 2007
Very Good for beginners rated 800-1350, and from about 8-10 years of age to adults. Excellent graphics and a series of training exercises guised in an eight-staged adventure game. Very nice bargain. When will they produce a Majestic Chess II ?

2 out of 5 stars Win XP hangs with this   August 5, 2007

After reading good reviews, I purchased this cd. What I expected was great, clean, and quality fun product. But this has just fancy background and graphics, and takes 100% cpu usage on my computer (windows xp) and we both computer engieers and chess lovers and our son 6yr old are dissappointed with the purchase.
