1 out of 5 stars Do Not Purchase This Product   November 30, 2008
After installing Norton 360, I found that all of the data associated with Quicken on my PC was missing. I restored the Quicken information from backup. A few hours later, the Quicken data was gone again. I repeated this cycle a couple more times with the same results. I removed the Norton 360 software and have experienced no problems with Quicken since.

I contacted Norton Customer Support and calmly explained what had transpired. They told me this was not possible and hung up on me. I then e-mailed the company regarding the problem. After a week's worth of trading messages, they referred me to their Live Chat option for advanced support. Upon trying this a couple of times, the only response I receive is that "I am next in the queue" but no answer after more than 30 minutes.

Based upon the obviously defective software and the abysmal support, I would strongly recommend pursuing some other company's product for your security needs.

1 out of 5 stars Symantec won't stop charging credit card   November 24, 2008

Check the fine print on your purchase agreement. If you bought this on line, norton says they will continue billing you every year. They provide a website to decline this yearly charge...but guess what? IT DOESN"T WORK! Ha ha. I tried 3 times and all 3 times it gave a message that said "can't do this now, try again later".

Somebody earlier said that Symantec was getting close to illegal activities. I have to say, I now wonder if that is true. Now they have my credit card number and apparently don't want to give it up.

1 out of 5 stars DO NOT USE THIS!!!   November 20, 2008
I received the Norton 360 around March. It has really messed up my computer. If I leave the firewall on, I can't use my internet. I can't schedule a defrag because Norton won't let me. It is really ridiculous!!
I would not recommend this product to anyone!.

4 out of 5 stars Easy to use   November 20, 2008
Very easy to install and it has held up great so far. Perfect for a computer novice (such as me). But tell me again - why do these softwares have to come in such big boxes???

2 out of 5 stars Norton thinks users are stupid - they "automated" utilitye   November 16, 2008
Norton has unilatterally determined that "they know best" and when you try to optimize your disk, it WILL NOT optimize them unless NORTON thinks they need to be optimized. Even 7% fragmentation does not reach the "magic threshold".

I chated for over 1 hour with Norton Support (an oxymoron) and was told that I should just use Windows Defrag because 360 would only defrag when IT wanted to.

Systemworks is a GREAT product - could run SpeedDisk and even at 7% fragmentation you could speedup your computer by running the utility.

I guess Norton thinks that every single computer user now-a-days is "computer illeteriate", and that they need to FULLY AUTOMATE EVERYTHING.

Bottom line - if you have Systemworks, stick with it and use one of the free antivirus products.

BTW - don't even think of trying to combine SystemWorks with Norton Internet Security - in Norton's great wisdom they won't let you install them if the other one is installed.
