Rocks you and Scares you July 16, 2007 This game is a blast to play with friends and family. My friends and I have been playing the 2nd version now for a couple years. The game is great in single player, but it is incredible in multiplayer. It will make your heart pound and if you get a good Alien or Predator player, they will probably scare the bajeebers out of you when they attack from behind. It is sad that it was about ten dollars in 2004 and now scalpers are over charging for it. Is it a great game? You bet! Is it worth sixty-four or more dollars? NO WAY! Besides shop around. A buddy of mine found it much cheaper elsewhere by searching the internet. We have a shooter game night every Thursday and this is a favorite standby still. Although there are certainly games with better graphics now, this one still holds up nicely in the decent graphics, great action, good music, and excellent scare factor.
Get this before it becomes impossible to find September 24, 2006 Despite the graphics that are starting to show its age this is a must have game. A vs. P 2 Gold will have you jumping out of your chair. Play it in a dark room and you will absolutely be carried away with the atmosphere of this game. There are not to many games that truly make you feel like you are there but this is one of them and one of the first that combined believable graphics with survival horror that so many have copied since then. I was lucky enough to get it when Amazon was practically giving it away but would have paid much more for this pc gaming gem.
What an Improvement from the first one! August 9, 2005 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I didn't think they could improve the first one all that much but in every category that the first one was lacking the second makes up for and then some. I have had this game for only a couple of weeks and am just blown away! The predator is my favorite only because I am such a predator fan. The other two are just excellent as well. Every time I play this I walk away with the jitters. The way the aliens jump at you as a predator or marine is just nerve racking. The aliens are so fast the marine's motion tracker is almost pointless. By the time they register they are on you. I am on easy and am still having a fair amount of difficulty. I just love this game. I hope this review is helpful.
Three species, one goal.....survive! March 31, 2005 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Awesome game. The graphics are astonishing. Any PC gamer that is a fan of either (or both) the Alien or Predator series would enjoy this game. This is definately one of those "play it in the dark for full effect" type games. It is amazing how realistic it seems when played over 5.1 surround sound. You would swear there was an alien or predator sneaking up on you. Gameplay is easy to learn, and multiplayer battles are intense. It doesn't get much more interesting than playing an alien and dropping from the ceiling down on your prey and ripping it to shreds and replenishing your life by feeding off their corpse, or playing a pred and ambushing your target and collecting their head as a trophy, or even taking charge of an arsenal of powerful armaments as a colonical marine and tearing the competition apart. Very intense combat. The inclusion of the Primal Hunt expansion only makes this package better. 3 new versions of the classic species and new weapons/missions only add to the fun.
Woah... February 13, 2005 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
First of all i'm a really big Predator fan, so it's natural that I would love this game. Okay, so the graphics are good, storyline is great, and the fact that they included alien lifecycle (from facehugger to chestburster to drone etc...) makes it even better. The weapons are good, like the Predators "Plasma caster". Well basically, this is a really great first person shooter. 5 ON 5 BABY YEAHHH!!!!
