Almost amusing April 30, 2007
The game starts off in a very promising humorous vein; we play a fat hairy redneck trailer-park low-life who speaks like Elvis. Great; and some of the jokes actually work. and shooting it out at the trailer park is kinda amusing at first.

But as soon as you get the truck on the road, forget it - for one thing, the maps supplied in the game are useless - green blobs for land, blue squiggles for waterways - and that's it, not even an on-map pointer to give us the simplest clue as to where we are.

Did they just get bored with the game and give up?

Feels like they rushed to get this on the market; they just wasted their time, and mine.

Typical Comic Book Come-On Cover August 24, 2005

As you would expect, I was hoping not, the cover is not what you get inside. Yes, it's an inexpensive shoot 'em up but it still leaves a whole lot to be desired. The controls are really mushy and the character (you) gets hung up quite a bit. There are some locations where you can stand and shoot like a carnival gallery and there are some unusually potent weapons for the "back woods". But my preference would be to see the female cousin having some fun right from the start, in fairly good resolution (not this game)...as it was after playing for at least 3.5 hours I still hadn't seen her...maybe she was just a "cover girl" in the worst sense of the word. Anyway if you're not real picky about your games and like to drink (moonshine) alot... this is your game.

I purchase ValuSoft's products because they are affordable. I'm the kind of person who doesn't believe in flushing fifty bucks down the toilet for a game that I'm probably going to hate anyway. Nevertheless, every time I play a ValuSoft game I am awe-struck by how incredibly bad they are. The first one I played was "Iwo Jima," a WWII game set in the Pacific. It was actually pretty fun, in spite of the hideous graphics and lousy enemy A.I. Then I played "Navy Seals," which was simply horrific in its awfulness. You could stand right in front of a bad guy, put the crosshairs directly over his heart, fire, and you would hit nothing. In addition, the game had only three levels.

Then this game, "Country Justice". I saw it advertised on-line, and it looked fun. Rednecks, zombies, missing goats...I guess I have a wierd sense of humor. So I dowloaded the demo, and here's what happened. I was told that I had exactly 60 minutes to play the game. Fine. I clicked on the "start" button, and the first level started loading. If you play computer games, then you've probably been annyoed from time to time by levels that take a really long time to load. Believe me, you've never seen anything like this: the first level of "Country Justice" took half an hour to load. If you think I'm joking, try it for yourself.

Finally, the game began. I was greeted by a half-naked redneck chick, (who by the way, is not nearly as attractive in the game as she is on the box) that tells me my goat has been stolen. I was not surprised by the piss-poor graphics. As a fan of value-priced games, I am used to that. What surprised me was how laggy the game was. My computer is almost brand new and it usually has no problem running games, let alone ValuSoft games with their stone-age graphics. So I thought that "Country Justice" should run fine. Well, I was wrong. It took about twenty seconds to go to the next frame. On top of that, after one minute and about three frames, the game crashed! I sure as hell wasn't going to wait another half hour for the game to load again, so I promptly uninstalled it.

The demo gave me a pretty good idea of what was in store should I buy the full version. I've been subjecting myself to ValuSoft's crummy games for years now, and "Country Justice" tells me that it's time to stop. I will never buy a product of theirs again, and I can only advise you to do the same. There are plenty of wonderful computer games out there that can be purchased for low prices. I bought the marvelous "No One Lives Forever" for just fifteen dollars, and I recently saw the great "Hitman 2" on sale for tewnty. If you search around on Amazon.com, you can be certain that you'll find many more. Just avoid anything with a "ValuSoft" label.
