Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Judge Dredd: Dredd vs Death takes you into a post-Apocalypse future for futuristic shoot-em-up action. Mega-City One stretches across the east coast of what used to be America. It's one of the last civilized regions after the nuclear holocaust, surrounded by mutants, monsters and aliens. The citizens of Mega-City One have only one defense: The Judges. They are its police force, army and executioners - and the best of them all is named Dredd. Become the classic sci-fi anti-hero and help him beat his polar opposite: An undead Judge who wants to kill the city Dredd protects.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Honey for the fans!   April 19, 2008
I love Judge Dredd. I love the deliciously witty 2000 AD comics from whence he came. If you're not familiar with the character, you probably won't adore the game, Judge Dredd vs. Death, as much as I do.

As a game, it's got it's good sides and it's bad sides. First, the good:

- Fast paced!
- Scary!
- Fun!
- Wide variety of weapons!
- Handy (hah!) alternate punching attack (get it now?)
- GREAT graphics!
- Intuitive controls!
- Wide variety of levels and locations!
- Great voice acting!
- %100 Dredd goodness!
- Amusing rag-doll physics
- Lots of explosions!
- Good variety of opponents, pedestrians and compatriots!
- Fun 'threaten and arrest perps' options!
- Tons of fun extra mini-games!
- Good multiplayer
- Good replayability!

And the bad:

- Relatively stupid AI. Somewhere between 'retard' and 'doofus'. Your opponents do duck, dodge, and weave...but more often than not, they'll just stand motionless and blast away at you. Occasionally, you'll encounter a rescue or team mission, where you'll have NPC's following you. They frequently get held up and you have to go back and refresh their memory. "Hello? You're supposed to FOLLOW me!" "Oh, sorry, I just got distracted by this speck of paint on the wall, Judge Dredd." This is a common problem, but it's still annoying.

- Repetitive gameplay. Lots of blowing away zombies and vampires. This may be an issue for some, not for me. I enjoy both. :)

- Generic music. The score left a lot to be desired. It's a small point to quibble, but I really appreciate a good soundtrack in a game.

- Fast zombies. This isn't a bad thing, really, but I thought it was funny! These aren't old-school, slow moving 1968 Romero zombies, these are more like Ving Rhames, new-Dawn Of The Dead zombies. Whatevs!

- Somewhat heavy on the scripted events.

Overall, I loved this game. But I also love the chance to step into Dredd's shoes and bust perps! As I mentioned, it's a pretty straight-forward shoot 'em up game, but there's nothing wrong with that...especially when Dredd's involved! Oh, plot, you ask? Well, the four EEEEevil judges break look from prison (Judge Death, Judge Mortis, Judge Fire & Judge Fear) and all hell breaks loose in the city. A nasty cult sprouts up, gang activity is off the charts, and the four evil judges are stirring up chaos. Dredd, of course, is the only man who can set things right! It's a must play for fans of Dredd, fans of FPS, and FPS/Dredd fans!

Oh, and it is pretty scary at times.[....]
