Product Description
Quake 4 takes you back to the front as you fight against an unrelenting alien enemy. Armed with advanced weaponry and vehicles and aided by an elite squad of marines, you take the battle to the heart of the Strogg home planet and become Earth's only hope for victory. They're regrouping but with their planetary defenses ruined, you have a chance to deliver a full and final assault. You are Matthew Kane, an elite member of Rhino Squad, and part of Earth's next invasion wave. With the Makron assumed dead, your squad is taking part in an operation to take advantage of the disarray and mop up the rest of the enemy forces on the Strogg planet. But your drop ship gets hit and comes down hard, killing a large chunk of your squadmates at the opening of the game. From there, you'll pull yourself up out of the muck and get down to business.

I was concerned about getting a graphics based game for a Mac (traditionally not a gaming machine), however the Intel chipset and Universal software made for a great gaming experience.

Those of us who are fortunate enough to have a mac, and have ever played Doom 3 on it will know that Doom 3, id softwares last games was horrible. No plot, monsters jumping every which way out of closets, and who knows where else. Let me get this striagh, this is totally different. No dark hallways where you can see the gun in front of you, no more ambushes by zombies and demons and whatnot, Quake 4 is an awesome, incredible shooter. The voice acting and constant action combine to make a gaming experience that no other game can match. If you have a Mac, this is a game you must get.

The same old same old. Not much new to see at all. A rehash of previous incarnations. Still not as good as Unreal either. The multi-play feature always errors out when trying to join a server? I get a 'Missing files for this game' message yet Quakes own mods section doesn't show any available and the game is up to date. I maybe get 40 servers but can't get on any?
This was a big waste of money. And before some Quake diehards start whining and try to blame my system etc. keep in mind I just installed Call of Duty 2 and that plays fine, plenty of multi-player servers 300+ and I can get on them just fine.
I think it's time for Quake to die and ID Software to stop resting on their laurels and try and develop something original again.

If you have a computer able to run it, get it. some of the boss' are pretty tough, but it is a good game. If only Marathon ran on OSX.

Great Graphcs very fast game play they got it right with this one!
I had to update all my computers Mac and PC's to get teh very best out of this game bet it was well worth it!
This game looks great on my new 20" G5 iMac WOW!
I was one of the best in New York City I ran my own server (Technoinnuendo)
"B___h in a body bag" was my players name. I just got a new server and will be back up and running soon to kill all that dare enter!
