2 out of 5 stars Kind of Boring.   July 21, 2008
I got bored after a few rounds of this game. It's not that fun to just find shells!

4 out of 5 stars Mystery of Shark Island   May 24, 2008
I found this game hard because of the small pieces and the short time. I finally worked through it but had to repeat some findings several time. If you don't give up easy or have very good eye sight and work fast this is the game. Will play it again to see if I can beat the odds.

2 out of 5 stars Mystery Of Shark Island   May 19, 2008
Did not care too much for this game. I love the hidden object games, but this one fell short. I like to find "different" objects, this one was the same one, just different shapes and colors.
I was disappointed, overall.....

2 out of 5 stars no rooms, just beach- gets boring   March 5, 2008

I just tried the demo for this which was 60 minutes of waves coming in and delivering shells. It gets kind of lame after a while since there are no other scenes to explore, just the same stretch of beach. I would recommend the following Hidden Object games for Mac OS. 1) "Interpol- On the Trail of Dr. Chaos - This has about 30 places to go and the images and graphics are the crispest I have seen." Graphic sharpness in games can increase the overall rating by up to two stars since it impacts game-play and likability so much. 2) "Little Shop, Big City"- This games beats Little Shop of Treasures one and two by a long shot with more things to do and better graphics, though all 3 would be a delight for kids. As an adult, I recommend just "Little Shop, Big City." 3) "Madame Fate" and the other MCF (Mystery Case File) Games... They are a lot of fun, however, I played Madame Fate first which was definitely the best, so it was hard playing the other ones which had fewer and less complex puzzles. Also, in Madame Fate you get to look for a stand still object which changes on the board before your eyes, and believe it or not, this change is not easily seen. You get bonus scenes and objects for finding these "inanimate" objects. Sadly, when it comes to hidden object games, they have all but ignored us humble Macintosh Fans. There are about 2 dozen Hidden Object games for mac and a couple hundred for Windows. I used my husband's Windows OS to play "Big City Adventure: San Francisco", and had I been able to play it on my Mac Laptop, I would have rated it in my top 3 above.

4 out of 5 stars You'll be swept away . . .   January 10, 2008

I thoroughly enjoy playing this game over and over. Picking out the various shells and other ocean items is challenging, especially when trying to beat the time before the next wave comes in. Lots of additional bonuses to help you find the shells makes the game less tedious to play. Seeing the special effects of the waves coming in along with the sound is practically realistic. It has a great story line and one can look forward to moving from one island beach to the next. I enjoyed finding the pieces to "building" the statues and then figuring out a puzzle to move on to the next beach. You have to pick out shells from the pictures, silhouettes and question marks the game gives you to make points and move on in the game. The only part I didn't like was the very end of the story. That's why I gave this game an overall score of 4 stars. Without giving away the ending--because the game is just a delight to play over and over--I wish it would have been more creative.
