1 out of 5 stars Rather Bland All Around   February 13, 2001

I rented this game expecting a fun, arcadey boxing game. What I got was one of the poorest excuses of a boxing game I have ever seen. The graphics here are not too shabby at all, but are kind of jaggy. The worst thing about this game has to be the collision detection. Many many times I hit my opponent but the hit did not register. This is extremely frustrating, especially when the match would be decided by those hits. Also, when you hit a button on the controller it seems to take about 2-3 seconds to register on screen, and then your guy punches. With 106 boxers you would expect some replay value right? Wrong. The replay value is there but the gameplay itself is so horrible that you don't want to play it anymore after you beat it the first time. IF you beat it once. There is a sort of career mode, where you are guided by Mike Tyson, but this gets very repetitive, and becomes boring very shortly. There is no create-a-boxer mode, and this really brings the score down, because Knockout Kings showed us that you can have a create-a-boxer mode. I can not think of one good thing about this game. Don't rent, don't buy, don't even look at it if you see it in stores.

1 out of 5 stars get HBO Boxing instead   February 1, 2001

I really didnt like this game, the graphics and gameplay are terrible. Tyson is the only name fighter in here. I have talked to people who like this game but I myself would recommend that you rent it before you buy it, HBO Boxing and Knockout kings are very good alternatives.

3 out of 5 stars best boxing since activision   November 1, 2000

This game has the intensity and action of the first boxing game for activison. The graphics are good, the motions are good, but the game itself can not catch the players interest. It is a average game and I would rent it before buying.

2 out of 5 stars Let's get ready to...look for another boxing game   October 29, 2000

The only real draw to this game is the fact that it's Mike Tyson. The graphics are average, the music barely tolerable, and the multiplayer mode somewhat lacking. The way the characters move was well done, but it's still not enough to warrant a purchase.
