WWF Smackdown! Just Bring It begins a whole new season on the PlayStation 2. Square off against more than 30 WWF Superstars in 60 different match types as the most electrifying show in sports-entertainment comes to life like never before.

Amazon.com Review
As the style of professional wrestling on TV has changed, so have the video games. Gone are the days of simple bouts between two men in tights. Wrestling is now a violent soap opera full of plot twists, romance, and intrigue. WWF Smackdown! Just Bring It accordingly contains as much story as it does action. The game features more than 40 WWF wrestlers who participate in 70 types of matches. Superstars like "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, The Rock, and Kurt Angle are joined by characters like Stephanie McMahon, Fred Durst, and Tajiri. Special matches include Falls Count Anywhere, Royal Rumble, Last Man Standing, and TLC (Tables, Ladders, Chairs). Plus there are plenty of secret wrestlers, rings, and matches that can be unlocked, adding to the replay value.

Gamers familiar with the controls of the Smackdown series will feel right at home. The game plays largely the same, with some additional moves and finishers. While having familiar and responsive controls is definitely a good thing, the graphics should not be too familiar on a next-generation system. Unfortunately, the game's character models haven't progressed much from the PlayStation version. However, the improvements in animations and ring entrances are fantastic.

The biggest flaw in the game is the commentary by Tazz and Michael Cole. There are several instances in which the commentary is disjointed and unnatural, and it often fluctuates severely in volume. This is a shame, as the announcers are a big part of pro wrestling's storytelling. Despite this problem, WWF Smackdown! Just Bring It packs more than enough quality gameplay and variety to thrill any WWF fan. --Raymond M. Padilla

Pros:

  • Classic gameplay with some nice refinements
  • Lots of features to unlock
  • Great multiplayer fun
Cons:
  • Disjointed commentary is distracting and annoying
  • Story mode is limited
  • Unimpressive character models

3 out of 5 stars Still a bit fun   April 28, 2007

I went back and played this game not too long ago. I was shocked to see that I was actually enjoying myself. Using Jeff Hardy is still as fun as I remember it to be. The only bad thing about this game is the BRUTAL commentary by Michael Cole and Tazz.

5 out of 5 stars This is an example of what WWE games like this should've always been like.   April 10, 2007

Who cares of the graphics & who cares if theres no Carlito, Masters, Batista, Cena, Lashley, or whoever, you can create them in your own intentions like I do. This game like Smackdown, Know Your Role, & Shut Your Mouth has it all unlike those other four lacklusters like cough HCTP, Smackdown vs Raw, 2006, & 2007 cough.

Before THQ soldout, the earlier four games such as one of these was real hard hitting knock out wrestling games that where so unbelievable with the raw features & especially the great matches like I Quit!

For those who think the new 4 WWE games are that great, you guys must lost your minds. This game Just Bring It is the real deal.

P.S. Unlike Smackdown vs Raw 2007's fight in crowd mode that only has to players, this game here has way better fight in crowd mode with more that 2 players! Believe that!

3 out of 5 stars Jbi deserves to die   January 9, 2006

Jbi is a great game- that is if you take out the paper-like fans, the horible commentary, and the annoying subtitles in story mode. There is a good selection of characters, including some unlockables like Rhyno, Tajiri, and Spike Dudley. Story mode gets REALLY annoying after awhile. First, you have to read the subtitles. Second, usually, story mode is usually 2-3 matches long! talk about boring. Even worse, if you play as a title champ, like Rhyno with the hardcore, it's only 1 match long! Just something to throw in- if you all ready have a title, to go for a different one you must lose your title match in story mode. Ok, match types. The good ones: Table, ladder, TLC, LMS (last man standing), Cage. Bad ones: Single match, tag match (note: the previous 2 matches were listed as bad because they are played out. Everyone has seen them), Street fight (just like a single match. I have yet to see the difference), Hell in a cell (just a single match, add a cage). I really like the enterances, though. Real life like.

Final ratings:
Graphics: 7/10
Music: 9/10
story mode: 1/10
Overall: 4.5/10

4 out of 5 stars YEAH,ITS O.K.   April 7, 2005

I like this game alot, though it was never my favorate Wrestling game because i had WWE SmackDown! Shut your Mouth wich is more fun,but there are a few features that newer Wrestling games don`t have like entrances in2 HardCore matches and starting with a Signature weapon(I.E. Triple H with a sledgeHammer,Foley with a fake Head). Here are just a few of the stars in this game:
Albert(Now called A-Train)
Big Show
"Rabid Wolverine" Chris Benoit
"Y2J"Chris Jericho
"The ONE"Billy Gunn
Crash Holly
Hardcore Holly
Molly Holly(when she was Face, and with Crash and Hardcore)
Eddie Guerrero
Faarooq
Triple H
Dean Melenko
Perry Saturn(one of `The Radicalz along with Malenko,Benoit and E.Guerrero)
Bradshaw(Representing the A.P.A. with Faarooq,Now known as John Bradshaw Layfield(JBL))
ect.
The graphics of the game are alright but the crowd blatently look like pieces of paper watching the match and when u throw an oppenent in the crowd(another feature witch older and newer WWF/WWE games have) they all squash together when you go near them. The sound is repetative when the announcers are broadcasting a match are annoying and hate each otha(Michael Cole and Tazz). The fix up 4 this game is that when entering you are not some one walking down i front of there Titan Tron movie, like they did in SD! 1,u now get 2 see your oppenents enter the ring. The great thing about this game are the Hints like you can unlock Tajiri,Rhyno,Foley,Spike Dudley,Fred Durst(not actually a wrestler in reality but a singer, featured because of Takers famous theme song),Steph McMahon,Shane McMahon,InsurreXtion PPV arena and a new SmackDown! Arena using Rock to beat 15 opponenents in a SK match(4 the SD! arena) OVERALL THIS GAME IS GOOD and on it my favo Wrestler The Rock.
IF YOU SMELLLLLLLL..WHAT THE ROCK..IS..COOKIN`!!!
