Retaining the wit and deep gameplay of the previously released PS2 Bully title, Bully: Scholarship Edition takes place in the fictional New England boarding school of Bullworth Academy and tells the story of 15-year-old Jimmy Hopkins as he experiences the highs and lows of adjusting to a new school. Capturing the hilarity and awkwardness of adolescence perfectly, Bully: Scholarship Edition pulls the player into its cinematic and engrossing world set in the most vile and sadistic setting yet in a Rockstar videogame: the schoolyard. Laugh and cringe as you stand up to bullies, get picked on by teachers, play pranks on malicious kids, win or lose the girl, and ultimately learn to navigate the obstacles of the fictitious Bullworth Academy.

Bully: Scholarship Edition comes to the Xbox 360, boasting new content, next generation graphics, and two player mini-games that make this title appealing to previous Bully players and a whole new audience.

New Content
8 new missions, 4 new classes, hilarious new characters, added two-player mode, new unlockables, new rewards and achievements.

Variety
With 82 missions, 45 lessons, loads of mini games and collectibles, Bully provides over 30 hours of entertainment.

Characters
Over 100 voiced characters to socially interact with among several social groups: jocks, nerds, preppies, greasers, teachers, townies, carnies and of course girls.

Choice
You're in charge. Decide whether you have a positive or negative effect when interacting or accepting missions; you can say hello to fellow classmates or deliver mean wedgies.

Technological Upgrades:

  • Use of next gen-graphical techniques including high resolution textures and dynamic lighting & shadow system.
  • Faster frame speed makes the game smoother and more responsive.
  • Recreated and updated over 3000 textures and character models by hand to bring up to next gen standards.
  • Improved full screen effects, including dynamic glow FX, improved depth of field, and heat and fire FX.
  • Textures uprezzed by 4x over the original Bully for PS2.
  • More pedestrians and vehicles are able to load at once which improves the visual variety of the game.
  • Mini-games, including classes are easily accessible through the menu system.

Product Description
The Rockstar tradition of groundbreaking, original gameplay and humorous tongue-in-cheek storytelling invades an entirely new setting: the schoolyard.

As a mischievous schoolboy, you'll stand up to bullies, get picked on by teachers, play pranks, win or lose the girl, and ultimately learn to navigate the obstacles of the worst school around, Bullworth Academy - a corrupt and crumbling prep school with an uptight facade.

The story follows 15-year-old Jimmy Hopkins, a teenager who's been expelled from every school he's ever attended. Left to fend for himself after his mother abandons him at New England boarding school of Bullworth Academy to go on her fifth honeymoon, Jimmy has a whole year at Bullworth ahead of him, working his way up the social ladder of this demented institution of supposed learning, standing up for what he thinks is right and taking on the liars, cheats and snobs who are the most popular members of the student body and faculty. If Jimmy can survive the school year and outsmart his rivals, he could rule the school.

Ready yourself for a hilarious return to campus living with Bully, the outrageously funny game title for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

Accept missions to earn all-new rewards and achievements; your choices can affect the outcome in positive or negative ways

4 out of 5 stars loading times! RAWR   August 28, 2008
this is a great all around game... fun for everyone.
the only buzz kill for me is the loading times, every time you go from one area to the next there's about a 15-30 second loading time.

it's not enough to quit playing the game, but it is pretty annoying

3 out of 5 stars Not Quite The Game I Expected   August 27, 2008
Having played some of GTA IV and not wanting to have so much questionable material around my wife and 2 boys, I thought I'd give this game a try in the hopes that it would be fun yet appropriate for all ages. Developer Rockstar did create a city within which you can travel and explore, as well as interact with different characters. I loved the different personalities you come across during your time in school. The voice work for the game is superb, and the writing is very clever. The graphics are pretty good for a game that was originally released on PS2, and I had a great time with the mini-games that occur whenever you actually go to class.

What kept this game from being great fun to play was the amount of repetition in the game play. Each mission had me running around the map to aquire or deliver some item with different bullies or nerds getting in my way as I went. This broke down into fighting with whomever was in my way prior to completing the mission, and then avoiding the school proctors or law enforcement on my way back to the "safe house". There were a few missions that deviated from this theme, but for the most part, it seemed pretty repetitive.

If it's one of the few games you own, you'll probably get quite a bit of gameplay out of it as there are lots of little details to experience in your time around town and in school. However, if you don't like a lot of repetition, and you own several other games that are seeking your time, this one might end up just being a 10 hour diversion.

This was a little hard for my son but a good learning experience. It was shipped and arrived as promised. Thanks.

4 out of 5 stars after patch and price drop, this game is an excellent bargain   August 4, 2008
basically this is a g-rated GTA. it's an upgraded port to tide you over until gta4. the bug freezes and things were fixed and price dropped dramatically very quickly before i picked it up, making it a bargooon.

anyway, if you like gta, or have kids not old enough to play gta, this game is possibly for you. same style, same basic sandbox world, map, missions, just minus the sex, weapons and killing.

since it's open-world sandbox, the game can take awhile, and that's a good thing. there are plenty of side missions for you, things to collect and accomplish for 100% completion if you're into that sort of thing. be very careful though, there are some easy things to miss for 100% -- i missed the 2nd lawn mowing job near the retirement home.

here's a 100% guide:
* Complete all Main Story missions (excluding "The Big Prank")
* Pass all Classes
* Collect all 75 Rubber Bands
* Collect all 40 "G&G" Cards
* Collect all 6 Transistors
* Destroy all 25 Gnomes
* Destroy all 19 Tombstones
* Destroy all 27 Pumpkins
* Complete all 6 "A Little Help Missions"
* Fail five classes and earn the Dunce Cap
* Pull the Fire Alarm 20 times and earn the Firefighter Helmet
* Run 41.84 kilometers to earn the Running Shorts
* Ride a Bike 100 Kilometers to earn the Spandex Bike Shorts
* Buy 100 Sodas to earn the Free Soda Reward (all Sodas will be free for the rest of the game)
* Drink a total of 500 Sodas (bought or picked up) to earn the Two-Can Hat
* Successfully complete the "Penalty Shots" mini-game once
* Successfully complete the "Keep-Ups" mini-game once
* Defeat the Pirate on the southern part of the large island at Bullworth Lake to get the Pirate Hat
* Complete five levels of Boxing at the Glass Jaw Boxing Club (Old Bullworth Vale)
* Take all pictures for the Yearbook and unlock the Black Ninja Outfit
* Complete all Go-Cart Races (Carnival and City Races)
* Complete all 14 Bike Races
* Complete at least 30 errands (some say 38, there are actually a total of 51)
* Complete all 6 levels of Lawn Mowing (2 locations)
* Complete all Paper Route levels
* Ride all 3 Carnival rides
* Win at all 4 Carnival games at least once
* Purchase all clothing in the souvenir tent (with tickets)
* Get high score in Consumo, Nut Shots and Monkey Fling arcade games
* Buy all clothing in the game (should be around 333, there may be 334 if you do 1000 knockouts - but that's not necessary)
* Unlock all 5 Save Houses

4 out of 5 stars Pretty Good, Best on XBOX 360   July 24, 2008
I own this game for both XBOX 360 and PS2. I have to say the 360 has far better gameplay. Most of the missions seems the same, but for some reason the controls seem more natural on the 360. The graphics are of course way better, as they should be considering I'm using a HDMI connection.

Overall, the game is fun, makes you think a little bit, and has lots of main and extra missions.
