Fun for All Ages September 15, 2008 This game is fun for all ages. I have played it with my grandsons ages 6 and 10, and with my daughters 25 and 35. Needless to say, I'm over 60 and still enjoy it. It is not necessary to be a big fan of the show and it's not really necessary to be a great singer. The game provides you with a good array of songs and provides the lyrics and melody, so all you have to do is sing along. Several levels of "hardness" keep it challenging and as you progress, you can unlock some new songs and extra items like clothing for your character and videos of actual contestants singing the songs in the game. It can be used by multiple players for a contest, or by a single person just for fun and relaxation. We'd all recommend it.
TONS of fun! May 28, 2008 More songs would be good but the game is a blast!
What I love: -Competition against others -american idol competition
what I hate: -no Paula :( -it only comes with one mic :(
nice game, mic is JUNK! November 17, 2007 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
Well, the kids have enjoyed a LOT. Too bad the microphone is a complete piece of junk (which is the reason for 1 star). The wire(s) are loose inside of it and it either won't work at all or scratches horribly. We've only had it since September. Recommendation - avoid.
Update 2008-05: Have since contacted Logitech (maker of the microphone) by phone, and email several times. Was promised a no-cost replacement mic. It took some time and multiple follow up emails & phone calls to finally recieve it 3 mos after the initial contact.
Soooo Fun !!!!!! November 5, 2007 This game is a lot of fun & so are all the other Karaoke Revolution games. I don't know why there aren't any new games coming out by Konami which is who made this game. Konami is far superior to whoever makes Singstar. The sony Singstar games are TERRIBLE !! If you like to sing Karaoke you will definetly like Karaoke Revolution better than Singstar. Singstar has a terrible scoring system, you have no way to turn down the volume of the actual singer so it really isn't Karaoke at all. Singstar should be called Sing-Along. It is a far more inferior game than Karaoke Revolution. I also don't know why Konami stopped making the older Karaoke Revolution Games like Vol 1, 2, 3, Party and Country. They could have made a killing on those games. You can only find them used now & they are hard to find. There is almost a cult following for karaoke revolution games. Sony needs to get it together & make they're Karaoke games the way Konami has.
A Total Blast October 30, 2007 My gf wanted a karaoke revoltuion game since she loves karaoke well I played this and I got say now, I love karakoe too. This is a fun game.
The only drawback is that the American Idol aspect of it. First of all, not all of the judges are represented, Paula Abdul does not lend her voice to this and the scripted lines the judges say run are pretty much in a loop. And the song selection is not huge. Other then that this game makes for a great Karakoe Night at home.
The USB mic is good too. It's got a pretty long cord and is responsive.
