Product Description In Star Trek Shattered Universe, you play a fighter pilot aboard the USS Excelsior, under the command of Captain Sulu. During a routine mission, the Excelsior is pulled into the hostile Mirror Universe ("Mirror Mirror" [TOS]). You will help to protect the Excelsior while she makes unlikely allies and discoveries on her quest to return to her own universe. In your travels you will encounter objects familiar to the original Star Trek series, including the Guardian of Forever and the Planet Killer.

Its fun and not as bad as others would make you think.. June 17, 2008 I thoroughly enjoyed this game and on the easy setting it isn't all that difficult. It also offers something different then the other Star Trek games. Instead of flying a big lumbering slow starship you are in a fighter, a more rapid paced game! Plenty of episodes in this with good graphics of old star trek nemesis's that I won't reveal here. I have played nearly every Star Trek game that has come out and almost everyone seems to get bad reviews, it just seems thats the fashion now days. Yes I liked Star Trek Legacy too, though it did have some flaws it was still fun. If you like Star Trek you will like this game, if you don't you might still get some enjoyment out of it, but I think some serious effort went into it. Not at all deserving of the one star reviews etc.
Very Challenging game January 20, 2007 This game is fun, but it takes some time to get used to the controls. The gameplay is great fun, but often very challenging. I'm only about halfway through the game, but I think with some dedication and practice it's possible to beat it. The bad points on this game are difficulty in using the targeting scanners. Sometimes, to find an enemy vessel, you have to cycle through all your allies, and be careful not to fire on them. Also random and often pointless communications from the Excelsior, and enemy ships, completely block all your targeting information, for about 5 seconds. This can be a serious annoyance when you are trying to target a specific enemy. Also, the pre-mission videos are blockable, but the in mission videos, are not only non-blockable, but while they are going, your ship can take damage while you cannot see where you are going. Overall, the game is fun, but very challanging. You have to be very skilled, to beat a seemingly unstoppable number of fighters. I am still playing the easy version of the game, but it is not a game for those who don't have the serious dedication to beating the game. One serious annoyance is the time bonuses. It's best to concentrate on finishing the mission with the current best ship, and reduing the previous missions with more advanced fighters that you find later in the game. Also, to take on the capital ships, your fighter has to be very close to the ship to do real serious damage. There is also no, team controls for friendly fighters, so most targets that you engage, will either have no friendly support, or you will be blocked from engaging enemies with your own fighters. Also, friendly fire runs rampant, so try to avoid your allies altogether. Overall good game, but could have used some adjustments before the official release.

i love star trek ever since i was seven. i will buy all star trek games if i can. i like this game fore how they did the starship enterprise. but gameplay was ok but i hate the ships exploding. it suck!. they could have did better. it's a good game but if they make another game, make it better, like star trek voyager elite force.
Less than I had expected June 15, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This game look promising but it had some fatal flaws. There were no training level. The control is too complicated to figure out. The action sequences get very repetitive after awhile. This game resemble the first target shooting game of Interplay's Starfleet Academy - Starfleet Command. Unless you are a die hard gamer, this game is not for the average game player.

I loved playing this game. I am a Trek fan from back in the 60's.Obviously, the idea was taken from the episode "Mirror, Mirror".It was great playing as an under cover bad guy through pieces of various episodes from the classic series, even though you dont get a chance to pilot a star ship, you get to engage and destroy them as a shuttle pilot, taking orders from Capt Sulu. The game play is challenging and the graffics are great. The Best Trek game Ive ever played.
