3 out of 5 stars X-Files: Resist or Serve   October 3, 2008
I'm a fan of X-Files. I bought PS2 X-Files game. It is fun. But not very much view surround as I thought most games. And wait for loading game took me long time before playing. If you love X-Files, you will enjoy game.

5 out of 5 stars A very good game - Awsome enviorement   July 30, 2008

This game is what the x-fans asked for.
The plot is very dark, the scenarios are very good, andits all fun.

My only complaints (because this game is not perfect), is that in the end of it, the story crossed the line, and some will see it a bit "unrealistic" (x-files unrealistic of course).

Also the other complaint is at the end, when you have to kill the main boss. Its very very very (add another very) to kill, and Im not kidding, if you spent 4hs to solve the game, you will spend 3 to 5 to kill this dude, because its a convination of skills you learn by the hard way, meaning playing it over and over again. This gives you a sour taste in the mouth when you win it, rather that make you feel you acomplished the mission.

Other pro is the fact you can have two somewhat different games stories, because in some parts, if you play with Mulder, Scully goes in a different path, and do others things, things that you will do when you use Scully, and Mulder goes on its own.

In resume, its a great game, and you will be satisfied by the time you reach the final boss.My sugestion is that you burn the disc, and avoid to suffer 5hs kicking the TV, because you was 1 punch away to kill the boss, and you pressed the hit button, but the machine didnt responded, and the boss ripped your head off.

5 out of 5 stars VERY FUN GAME!   April 1, 2008

This game is a must for x-files fans!
The great thing about this game is that you can choose to play as Mulder or Scully, there are 3 different episodes to play (must unlock them, though), and the music and graphics are excellent!
There are many different options and ways to beat the game (depending on whether you are playing as Mulder or Scully) and can be played over and over again!
The bad things about this game are the view (when you are walking, it is hard to change views), the constant darkness (this game is best played in a dark room or at night, the glare from light or sun can get quite annoying, and your character must constantly hold a flashlight), and the fact that you cannot run when your character is holding a gun and flashlight at the same time!
But other than that, this game is very fun and has a number of outcomes! There are some very funny Mulder/Scully moments that fans will appreciate!

2 out of 5 stars Bad Execution   June 18, 2007

I would divide video games into 4 groups:

Group I: The big stuff is right and the small stuff is right. These are the truly great games, like GTA 3 and Halo.

Group II: The big stuff is wrong and the little stuff is right. These are fun, if ultimately unfullfilling games. I would put Bully in this category. The concept wasn't great, but they did well with it to make a fun game.

Group III: Bad big picture and bad details. I've never actually played a game like this, but I assume that they exist.

Group IV: The big picture is good, but the details are lacking. This is what this game is, and it is the type of game that annoys me to no end. Think Fable or pretty much every title put out by EA Sports. That it COULD be a very good game is clear in playing, but that the makers simply didn't put enough effort into the details of the game to make it great. Since, in the end, it disappoints so frequently it isn't even good.

So, let me talk a bit about what is wrong with the game.

First, it isn't really in a genre. Rather, it flirts with elements of different genres (Action, puzzle, etc), but not enough of any to provide interesting gameplay.

Second, they tried to have more deatil for the main characters than they could pull off. The result was a very zombie-like, Mulder and Scully...

Third, the camera angles were handled horribly. It is one thing to have a pure 2rd-person perspective. However, the changes in camera location (and often having them flip 180 degress!) was terrible. You would be running and the camera would cut and throw off your direction. This is especially difficult during action scenes such as the fight with the sherriff...

I could go on, but I won't. This game is acceptable for an X-Files fan, but under no circumstances should anyone else buy it. Even X-Files fans will be more disappointed than pleased...
