Great Fighting Game September 14, 2007 This game is probably the best fighting game for the old systems (xbox and ps2). It's easily accessible to the beginner, but has so much depth that you can play it for months and still learn new things. Virtua-Fighter 5 will probably take it's place as best fighting game when it comes out on the xbox 360 (the ps3 version is not-so-good), but until then this game reigns supreme in my mind.
A Classic Remade September 2, 2007 Every effect is brilliant, every hit is lightning fast and realistic, and all the physics are strong. If you like button mashing, this game is not for you, but if you're a dedicated fight sim gamer, this is a must for your library. If you're getting this game, make sure you get the "Evolution" version. It has the two estra characters that make the game.
Great Game, AWESOME Multiplayer July 29, 2007 Great fighting game! This is one where you can get together with friends and own the snot out of each other. If you have even a remote interest in console fighting games, this is one your going to love.
Okay great game but... April 23, 2007 I must say this game is great but I have a question. Why in the training mode they show how to perform the moves of a character like they are using a joystick, but you cant use the R3 AND L3 buttons in actual arcade or any battle? In the arcade or quest mode the R3 and L3 are totally useless, I understand that its really only three button to perform a combo but trying to perform a combo using the directional pad its really annoying in my opinion.Thats the only problem I have with Virtua Fighter 4 Evolutoin.
You can play dress up, as you would with Barbie dolls May 9, 2005 This game is very addictive because it offers hundreds of ways to customize each character. You are able to change the color of the clothing, and add accessories. Accessories such as gold chains, sunglasses, boxing gloves, etc. You can even add new hairstyles. Like giving Jeffery a funny looking fuzzy afro, or giving Sarah long (goldie-locks) curly hair.
You can change the screen names too. Whatever you choose to type in, will appear at the top of the screen. Like typing in "King of Pimps" for a male character, or typing in "Sexy Lips" for a female characters.
The game's new Quest mode is a great diversion from Arcade mode. When you don't feel like playing 7 matches which always lead up to the boss fight, you can enter Quest mode instead. In Quest, you will have to meet certain requirements in order to earn points (money) which you'll need to buy the customizations.
Lastly, even the Training mode for this game is addictive! You can practice specific moves, in specific combat situations. There is even a slow motion option which helps you to perfect some of the more cumbersome combos. Although slow motion is NOT selectable for the other modes (Quest and Arcade), it looks extremely cool to beat up the training character in slow motion.
