Product Description In Prey, gamers enter an unpredictable world where nothing can be taken for granted. You'll become Tommy, a Cherokee garage mechanic stuck on a reservation, going nowhere in life. When an otherworldly crisis awakens spiritual powers from his long-forgotten birthright, he & his girlfriend are abducted by aliens who need him to save the planet -- even if he's not sure he can. Multiplayer game support that takes advantage of the unique gameplay styles in Prey Deep, emotional story of love and sacrifice based on the Hero's Journey story structure -- the same used to tell Luke Skywalker's story in the original Star Wars

Good for the price September 25, 2008 The game was a bit repetitive. I'm glad I didn't pay $50 for it; however, it was well worth $8. For this price, I would recommend to everyone, except children that is.
Underestimated; really fun. August 29, 2008 I was skeptical about this game when I first started playing it because I didn't know what to expect but as the game went along I really started enjoying myself and noticing what a sharp shooter I was!! I think that the futuristic part of the game puts a lot of people off and all the topsy curvies confuse people but after a while you'll get used to it and start looking forward to it.
This would be a good game on the original Xbox, NOT the 360. August 10, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm a FPS freak. I love em! Having recently finished Gears of War (3rd person shooter,) Call of Duty 4 and Time Shift, I have gotten very spoiled. All 3 of those games are second to none. So when I play a game, my expectation bar is pretty high.
I'm only going to go into the major flaw of Prey, because for me, it's a deal breaker.
The primary problem is the actual shooting of the aliens (the main crux of the game.) When you fire at them it's hard to tell if you even hit them because all that happens is a little scene of blood splatter which may or may not be in the area you actually hit them. THERE'S NO REALISM IN IT AT ALL. The Doom 3 engine is just too outdated to compete with the other games out today. It falls way short of what I expect from a FPS.
Sure the scenery and the teleporation and other gimmicks are fun for about 15 minutes but if all I'm doing is going from dark room to dark room firing at aliens in an original Xbox, Doom-esque manner, I'm getting bored VERY fast. So fast in fact, I put the game back in the case after 8 of 24 levels. An Xbox 360 game this is not!
If you loved Gears of War, Time Shift or Call of Duty 4, I would recommend staying away from Prey. You will really be disappointed.

This game, for the money, was a lot of fun. With good puzzles and a story line almost all should enjoy. Give it a try.

Prey has an unusual format, storyline and main character model.
Story graphics run around 9 with the issue of respawn the weakest part of the game action. Respawing is simply pecular and though innovative interrupts the storyline to such a degree as to be annoying.
Great idea, well developed with lots of action. vehicle action (flying vehicle) is really very well done.
