I enjoyed multiplayer August 2, 2008 Single play mode is average. Instead of that, I enjoyed multiplayer. Actually, advanced warfighter is not so'advanced'.
Good but June 25, 2008 I liked GRAW but it still has one problem in single player, Enemies appear out of thin air!
Bad guys who man fixed emplacements, or come rushing out of places only appear when you've reached close enough to see them.
Which kind of negates the power of a Sniper Rifle in spotting targets and sweeping areas. After scanning a building and windows and ledges for enemies I progress only to find a sniper or some other bad guy who suddenly appears because now my team is close enough and they get cut to ribbons. What is the point in having a .50 BMG rifle if badguys beyond the range of the computer limits as your sight to badguys but not beyond the range of your rifle?
And ofcourse GRAW doesn't put badguys in the same place each time to "keep it real." I wouldn't mind this except for the aforementioned problem. I've reached all the way to the last stand mission and this glitch is bugging the hell out of me. So ARMA is still tops in my opinion because it doesn't have this problem all the bad guys are preloaded and don't have to appear out of thin air.
Not too bad. June 13, 2008 A definite improvement over the first game, you can pick up enemy weapons so now you don't have to worry about running out of ammo with the sniper plus you can carry both weapons and a sidearm for a total of three. One thing they removed from this game that the first game had that was enjoyable was when you loaded a checkpoint save, your health and your team mates health rose to full. That way you could never get stuck at a certain level with a fraction of health so one hit kills you every time. In this game that is no more like that, therefore you can get stuck at a hard point all by yourself and youre screwed, might as well start over. Unfortunately they are still in Mexico so everything still has that brownish yellow tint to it, for once I would love to see this game in a jungle environment or an urban city that isn't dust covered. Overall I was dissapointed with the end, the last level makes NO sense at all, your helicopter drops you in the middle of a bridge and you must take out 3 .50 cal gunners and a guy with an RPG-7 plus about 3 or 4 others all at once before they blow you away, one of my guys ALWAYS dies because the split second he steps away from the rope he is killed because he lands directly in fire from the .50 cal gunner. VERY ANNOYING, then when you do take them out, you must defend against a wave of soldiers, a helicopter gunship, and an APC with a mounted .50 on top. Then you must advance over the bridge to the other side whilst dodging more RPG's and snipers and a couple of mounted .50's on a rooftop. I found it IMPOSSIBLE to do this, because I am coming out of a funnel into a warfield. I fail to see how this is possible because once you get to the other end, a tank with more soldiers shows up. At this point all my guys were dead due to .50's or snipers and I used my only rocket on the helicopter gunship earlier, so its me vs the tank and about 6 guys. It was then I went online and got a trainer so I could at least finish the level before I get rid of the game. Tactically it would have made much more sense to come in from behind the bridge on both ends or cross the river at a different point. Other than that level, it is a great game.
GRAW2 AW: A true tactical strategy / shooter June 9, 2008 GRAW2 AW is truely awesome because it has a true tactical paradigm. You can't just run around shooting at everything and getting shot 20 times and respawning in the same place, you can't even save when you want to, the game decides where and when you can save- if you're under fire you cannot. As a player you are rewarded for using the peek around corner, crawling prone, suppressed head shots- "going recon". Plus the game is adaptive- When you are killed and restart, when you get back to the same area things will change- you won't see the same enemies in the same spots!
For me this was one of the best games ever. Being able to use a real-time zoomable HUD like in the movie "Lions for Lambs" and to see from a UAV gives the true Futuresoldier ability.
GRAW 2 May 5, 2008 This is a great game .... AI follows orders better than GRAW (the firs GRAW), has a good and reasonable save option ... saves periodically as you accomplish things and you can save IF you are not under fire. Realistic (according to soldiers who have been to Iraq/Afgan.) and nice selection of weapons ....what can I say ...one of few FPS games (Call of Duty 4 is the other) I would play repeatedly! Immediately after which is high praise indeed!
